Re: New Track Pad Install - 350 Straight
Your trailer has tandem duals? If so, that's going to be overweight for my F350 (1991 crew cab diesel dually) and my buddy's 2022 F350 (SRW crew cab 7.3 Godzilla) with the 350 on it. My buddy and I have been looking for a trailer for a while, but it's tough to find something that can handle the 350 ...

Re: Military Surplus JD 350 Straight
Excellent news. I should be pushing dirt with mine soon.dabear3428 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2026 11:35 amdozer is pushing dirt and is dead reliable in starting, still have worries about the right clutch, it works fine but i can tell it is not as effective as the left, just not bad enough to make me tear it down to fix it.

Re: Top Roller Replacement or Just Replace Seal?
So, I figured out that my upper roller wasn't worn out; the OD was only about .2" smaller than my new roller. And about .1" smaller than the top roller on the other side. So I disassembled and cleaned the old roller, harvested the $140 seal from the new roller and installed it in the old roller, ver...

Re: New Track Pad Install - 350 Straight

Re: New Track Pad Install - 350 Straight
when do you want to move the dozer? how far do you need to move it? (edit i see outside of Fredericksburg) as to the vfd, if that is a step pully mill (i think i remember it as a step pully) you would like having a vfd on it when using it. it also increases the resale value (for what that is worth)...

Re: New Track Pad Install - 350 Straight
will it be time to push dirt? BTW do you need any help with setting up your mill? i have done a VFD install on my Aliant 9X42 and it was not very expensive. or do you have 3 phase power? Yes, I think it's about time to push dirt, so we need to get it to my buddy's ranch outside Fredericksburg. My b...

Re: New Track Pad Install - 350 Straight
My 350 came with loader pads, so I ordered 72 of the 12" single grouser dozer pads from Broken Tractor; pretty sure these are made by ITR. I also ordered 300 track bolts and nuts from Broken Tractor; these are stamped "ITR." Here's the process I used: 1. Clean mud/dirt from bolt heads on track pads...

Re: Top Roller Replacement or Just Replace Seal?
Hi, Road racing mostly. Sports and formula cars mostly. Lotus mostly. And then some dirt and paved oval racing with the Legends Cars, but still mostly road courses. In my book, anything over 1500 pounds is Large and Slow and can't steer. :P But quarter mile doesn't need steering much and horsepower ...

Re: Top Roller Replacement or Just Replace Seal?
Not a big fan of tool trucks. My next door neighbor at my shop is a Matco tool truck guy. I made the mistake of buying a Milwaukee M18 grease gun from him one weekend; I figured he would give me a decent deal on it, but he charged me $100 more than I would have paid at Amazon. Really chaps my *** be...

Re: Top Roller Replacement or Just Replace Seal?
Hi, We have one in the next town, only 4 miles away. So, we hit the Big Time. A McD's, *two* Dollar Generals and now a Hobo Freight! :P My take on HF is, yeah, buy those tools and then when I bust one, go get a Mac or snap-On to replace it, ;) I, too, have an El Cheapo bottle jack press. Have had i...

Re: JD 350 Straight Diesel - What Are Y'all Seeing for Compression PSI?
Hi, Yep. The various 152 and 164 engines I have had all loped at low idle as well. even after IP rebuilds and new injectors. The current 174 Turbo does not. But the old ones spanned from 1966 to 1978 and the 174 is from 2008. So plenty of changes involved beyond just the displacement and the turbo....
