I just used a big combo wrench on the reverser bolts to ensure they were tight. You should be able to use a crow's foot on a torque wrench if you want to torque them.

New is no longer available, unless someone's got one gathering dust on a shelf somewhere.

The one I'm buying is said to be useable as-is, but we'll see.

I got underneath my '67 350 Straight and I was making sure all of the larger nuts and bolts were tight and I snapped a 5/8" bolt that secures the reverser to the crossmember on the right side. It's a grade 8 bolt and didn't put much pressure on it at all, so it must have been compromised and/or just...

Mine 67 350 doesn't have it, either, but it steers just fine without it, so I have zero interest in adding it. Just something else to break, in my opinion.

I have the same question; my blade seems to have significant play as well.

My '67 350 Straight has the 6305 6-way blade and the controls and linkage are just worn out. I know I can rebuild it, but I'd prefer to source something new or good used so I can install it and set my original stuff off to the side so I can repair when I have spare time. For the new parts, I checked...

I checked with the dealer; the kits are no longer available, so it looks like I'm going to rebuild it, or buy a complete one so I can still use the machine while I'm' rebuilding another one.
