Re: Idler Bolt - Need to Replace
Make sure the shaft was drilled completely through. some might only be drilled from one side. Jim B, not sure I'd go that far with the wire test... if it's only drilled from the one side, which bulletpruf reckons looks likely from how it's built, then you'd just be shoving grease into a dead end – ...

Re: pic server DOWN
Stan, I had a go at that on a very small scale last winter. Dug a little ditch at the allotment to shift the water from the soggy bottom corner up to the dry bit by the tomatoes... well, water doesn't go uphill, does it. Ended up with a lovely new pond by my neighbour's shed instead, and he was *not...

Re: 450E steering clutch housing – how high should the oil run?
thereelking, I've never touched a dozer, mind you, just my old MGB and a tatty Bonneville, but I had something similar with the primary case on the bike. After a rebuild the oil sat way above where it should, and I was convinced the little drain-back hole was far too small to cope... turned out it w...

Re: 450E Steering Housing Oil Return location
Is that the drain/oil return? thereelking — to be fair, I'm no 450E expert, more an MGB and old bike bloke... but before you go blaming that half-inch hole, how did you work out the 1.6gpm figure? Is that from the book, or did you measure it off the pump? And when you say the chambers fill as you r...
