CCWKen, the trans. end of the shaft has 21 splines, and has a sleeve coupler on it, roughly the same dia. as the implement end. There is one bearing in the casting.

Turns out among the pile of stuff I bought at auction is a complete 3 pt. hitch/pto. shaft for a JD350. I've got one, but don't need the hitch. Now what do I do with it? Is it worth anything? Does anybody want one? I'll try to post a picture.

I bought a pile of odds and ends at an auction, on one pallet there are the parts for a 3 pt. hitch and pto shaft. There is a curved bracket which is the same as the one under the drawbar of my straight 350, so I am assuming that the 3 pt. fits. How do I find out for sure? (Can't find a casting #.) ...

Instead of a tapered punch, I drive a birch dowel in first, and drive it out with the master pin. You can grind the dowel down to any taper you need. It seems to line up the links better. It may sound wacky, but works for me.

Thought I'd share some stuff about getting my straight JD350 crawler up and running. I had the engine rebuilt by a pro, new uc., and did a lot of cosmetic stuff. Couldn't afford new steering disks so I cleaned up the old ones with brake cleaner and a random orbit sander. The adjuster gizmo was about...
