Re: Question for woodworkers

Have a table saw?? I have a T&G moulding head for mine that works well. Router tables are usually pretty small. It's easier to support long pieces off of a saw. A really good cast iron router table and heavy duty router will go well past $1000. Even a composite top table will come close. You really ...

Tool box

I need to carry a couple shear bolts and wrenches when I mow. Anyone have a good tool box/location? I didn't want to fender mount but it's looking like my best choice. Might weld a bracket and bolt right on the mower too.

Re: photo posted now

Did some cleaning on the bottom one, with round ends. Those round parts are welded on, very poor sloppy looking welds. They look like they were welded onto one with the star shape. 6 5/8" diameter on the top 2 and 7 3/4" on the round ended one. They are castings, 1 1/8" bore, look like held on with ...

So many disjointed posts on photo posting I gave up. How about a single post with 1, 2, 3, 4, type steps. No extended explanations. I metal detect and have dug up 3 machine parts. I have no idea what they are and thought I'd post a photo here in hopes someone could identity them. Anyone post a photo...

Re: Tough time with JD 420 transmission or clutch, or who knows?

Can be broken and held together by pressure enough to turn the wheels. I actually had a broken crankshaft and the engine would run then break another part. Fix the part and it would run again and break the same part. Did it 5x before we finally found the problem. Hair puller for sure. :?

Wouldn't be a bad deal, but track motors for 440's are really spendy!

Re: Why

Why do you guys like these things so much, I thought by getting a 65 year old piece of equipment, I would have something simple and fun to work on, but nooo, every time I turn around I have another issue, even the simplest maintenance task snow balls. Like changing the oil, started out with a jd oi...
