Re: Oops?
Back alive! New carb shaft fixed it. Did a little maintenance while it was in the shop.
Question: how often does the generator need oil?

Re: Oops?
Bingo!!
Got enough tin off to see a little. Everything seemed to move correctly. I dropped the carb down and could see the plate. Linkage & shaft moved fine plate didn't.
Broken shaft at the first screw hole.
Is just the shaft a available?

Re: Oops?
I have no control over the engine rpm. It will vary from idle up to out of control. I'm starting to remove the air cleaner so that I can see the linkage. Moving the throttle lever moves the carb shaft, but when the engine is running does not control engine rpm.q Is it possible that the carb plate ca...

Re: Oops?
I did get it into the shop. Managed to keep it at a high idle until I had it inside. I'll wait until the snow on it melts and it warms up some.

I'm debating trying to run it enough to get it in the shop.

Re: Oops?
I could see the shaft move with the throttle lever. Tractor had been running fine for at least 20 minutes. It started right after I killed it from a near full throttle (turned off the ignition switch). Kind of chugged to a quick stop.

Oops?
420 had been sitting quite a while and the battery was near dead (plus it was 10 degrees). I removed the hold down with very cold fingers. Slid the battery out enough to put the charger on it. Aside from the fuel bowl leaking (needed a new gasket) everything was fine and it started right up. My fing...

Re: Help needed (and greatly appreciated!!) 1962 1010C
We have a great hydraulics shop in town. I haven't ever taken anything in they couldn't fix. They seem to be able to come with something that will work. Between regular and now metric parts, it possible they can find a replacement. I'd suggest you take the cylinder to a commercial specialist to find...

Re: Cracked housing repair
I had a crack repaired and they even added a missing ear on the housing. They used heat and special rod. Cost less than $100 at the time. It's been 10 years and still holding! Worth checking on a pro to do it.

Re: Grease in Rockshaft
No idea about a factory rock shaft. On my home made 3 pt using a tractor shaft, I drilled and tapped several spots and use grease.
Could you use the light grease, corn head, like the rollers are supposed to use? Kind of in-between oil and grease.

Re: Question the 440 without upper idlers
Look at photos of a 440 with the idlers and see it they would hold the track close to the same level.
I have a set of 440 tracks and the chains are the same size as my 420 (pads 2 bolt vs 4 bolt however). I'm not sure if the gap where the idler runs would be the same on 350 chains.

Re: 1010 crawler loader ignition
Might turn easier if you pull the plugs, squirt oil in and spin it a few times with the starter.

Re: Size
My seat is moved back. I would not use any wood, steel only. And with a foolproof attachment and rear stop on the slide adjustment!
My butt is hanging out, there right over a nasty rotary brush cutter. Anything that might break or fail is not an option.
