Big step was to mount the engine on the bell housing.
Two guys needed. One navigating the engine block onto the drive shaft, one flying the engine hoist altitude.
Looks good.

Next step is to install the clutch disk and pressure plate.
I don't see how it can be done without the disk centering tool, but we had one.

This is a pic of handy tools layed out on a truck hatch door.
Left to right: 420 guage, clutch disk centering tool (lopped of a scrapped drive shaft), bell housing mount bolts, with heads cut off, to align the engine as it is guided onto the bell housing.

The oil-pan is on with it's new gasket. The next fun step is to line up the engine and flywheel to attach the flywheel. The orientation pin has to line up with a blind hole on the flywheel. We reseated 3 resurfaced valves in the head.
The 4th valve, an intake valve, is new.

I got every part I needed from Lavoy. Fast turnaround too. Thanks Lavoy. New pistons and new rings. We mounted the piston to connecting rod, then clamped the rod in a vice to hold the piston steady. Update. Lavoy had everything except the main crank bearings. He actually found the 0.040 undersized rod bearings. But the main crank bearings were undamaged, so I'm gonna just stick them back in. Then next two weeks, I'll be scrubbing parts, etc. I expect I'll have everything by mid-September and wi...

The crank itself is undamaged. I can re-use (don't wanna) the main bearings, but not the rod bearings. The replacement rod bearings need to be for an 0.040 inch undersized journal on the already-machined-once crank. I'm still looking for them. Got some possibilities in the works. The bad news is that Lavoy informs me that the bearings for this turned-down crank are not available anymore.
Thinking about this.
Is it terminal?
Will I have to bury a 3 ton crawler because I can't find a 6 ounce part?

#2's intake valve rod is too bent.
The resurfacing still leaves an unpolished mating surface.
Need to replace this valve.
