Re: 350 B Track

My dad got so mad at the last set he took a thin cutting disk and cut into the outside of the bushing pad side. Parked it in a wet spot for a month rotating the tracks everyday with the bucket and backhoe stabilizers down. This finally broke them loose but are still a bit sticky. These were brand ne...

Re: 420C idler size

Best option is to install 350 Deere rails and pads, plus have a 350 sprocket ring welded onto the 420 sprocket hub. I believe 350 rollers bolt right in as well. Any reasonable condition undercarriage is normally collector price. We have a 440 Dozer that had this done to before we purchased it and wo...

Re: How crazy an idea is...

Easiest way to do rollers is to remove the track frame. Spend your money on building a track pin press which really makes the job easy. We use ours 1-2 times a month as my dad is in the shop full time at 72 years old. I know he has used it twice in the past 2 weeks on a 450 loader hoe that got both ...

Re: 455G.. starting problem

There are no glow plugs. When you turn the key on it powers the electrical system and tests the warning lights. We have had selenoid issues on our G series crawler. There is one on the starter and one on the firewall. We tested by using a remote start button directly to the starter. Normally if they...

Re: Looking at a 450C anything to watch out for?

If you pass on it let me know, I have a 450 loader with hoe coming from cranbrook to Edmonton in the next week or so and this would round out the load if it’s close by. Looks to be a nice straight machine that is need of undercarriage.

Re: Looking at a 350B ...anything you see that says..RUN!!?

No need to measure the tracks, they are 100% worn. Best to check all crossmember bolts, caps, frame bolts. If this were my machine I would be removing the track frames and crossmember (possibly frame sections), Dozer mounts. Then start rebuilding from there if the reverser, tranny, steering clutch’s...

Re: jdeere 450e oil pan

You have to pull the hard nose. You are most likely held up on the oil pump sump. Never tried with the hard nose attached. There is only 6 15/16” headed bolts and comes off easy with a shop crane.

Re: 450B transmission

Your president is trying to kill free trade and the Canadian economy. Price of steel went up about 50% in the past 3 months and another 25% on Canada day (July 1st) with the trump tax. I will look for the parts next weekend and will send them down for a reasonable price if we have them, which I’ll b...

Re: Injector removal 3 - 179 CID engine

If you can get them rotating work them back and forth and they should come out. You can bend them so don’t over do it.

We won’t hold your prior occupation against you, hopefully you were able to retire so you have time to work on your 350. Did you get your reverser issue figured out?

I could help you out but the tax on importing steel products from Canada could be a killer.

Re: 420 dozer for sale 5hours down the road

Best to trade in your broken down 350C on the one we have with 5,000 original hours and 85% undercarriage!! We are down on crawler projects and had to resort to putting a motor in a Deere 444C wheel loader today. A 420 is a little light for more than willlows and dirt work. They will do the work but...

Re: Jd 350 reverser oil

For use in Alberta Canada our 350’s would not start in cold weather when my dad build access roads across muskeg if THG was used. The 350’s placed rip rap and pushed material for building the roads and the skidders pulled in the timber. Deere oil is expensive that’s why we don’t use it. THG is the e...

Re: Jd 350 reverser oil

ATF works fine in reversers. We used it for better cold weather starting, however in the last 20 years we ran our high horse power widepad loaders with backhoes they only worked in the summer months. We had no failures in the 2 machines due to slipping disks nor any fade in performance when worked t...

Re: To buy or not to buy

To change this to a narrow pad it’s really just a pad swap and remove / install both crossmembers. Worst part would be broken bolts in the frame / crossmember and reverser, which could require engine removal. We have done 5-7, probably a 2 day job for my dad and I counting removing broken bolts. May...
