start with a basic health check. Check compression leak the cylinders down if you have access to a cylinder leak-down unit. remove the filter and inspect the cartridge for metal particles. It is also possible that with the lack of oil it stuck a valve causing a lack of compression. More than likely ...

go to http://www.locknstitch.com/ this is a professional cast iron repair company. Depending on where your cracks are this is a good repair method. There are also some good cast iron repair shops out there that can weld these, but some just can't be welded (as we found out with the head for our D. T...

I used a drift and welded a piece of 1/4" rod to the drift to hold it while we beat on it with a 20lb sledge. Now that was beating out a king pin in the front end of a truck, but I think that is a good way to hold it and be a good ways out of the way. That was pretty bad, couldn't barely steer the t...

I think it is real dependent on what kind of ground you have and the size of the plow. I think JD rated their tractors based on a 16" plow bottom. Now where I am the thick blue clay is some tough stuff to pull anything through, but there is also sandy soil that pulls like a hot knife through butter.

well, on the engine, try removing the sparkplugs and turning it over. If it is hydrolocked with coolant removing the plugs would allow someplace for the coolant to go. Also check your oil, if it seems really full, or is brownish and the consistency of a milkshake then the coolant is going into the o...

we just got ours running pretty good and it just wants to stall trying to start in 4th, third gear it seems runs pretty strong. This is my first time playing one of the old vertical two-cylinders. I think the oil pump is a tooth off but not really sure. More or less I am really happy it is running t...
