Possible 440ic for sale

Hi my wife and I are expecting our second child so I am contemplating selling my 440ic crawler. It is a work in progress but ran good last summer before I replaced the water pump and radiator. I think it sat too long and the carb plugged up so I am in the process of rebuilding the carb. I also just ...

No Spark after sitting this summer 440ic

Let me just say first that Lavoy is great for parts. I just spent the last 2 days putting a new water pump in and a new radiator, and a steering handle. Everything was right that he sent. Oh I also INSTALLED a thermostat since the previous owner must not have thought it was required equipment. Nothi...

Ok I have been meaning to get back to my crawler radiator and water pump install, but I also wanted to paint the engine at that time. Are you using high temp paint on the engine or what is required? The color choices at the local farm store were quite limited. They didn't even have the industrial ye...

There are two different 440 gas crawlers, those made before the diesels came out, and those after. The later gas crawlers use the same transmission as the diesels, but use different bull and pinnion gears. Not a big deal, you could run them. You probably could convert one, but you will need a donor...

differences between gas and diesel 440 crawlers?

Just wondering how different the two models are. Do they use the same transmissions, radiators, fuel tanks, etc or are there several differences aside from the engine? Would it be possible to convert a gas to a diesel by simply swapping the engine?

Thanks,

Pulling a crawler

Hi, I need to move a 440ic crawler that I am working on up the road about 1/5 mile. Is it ok to pull from the rear hitch backwards? I was thinking of jacking the blade up and chaining it into position and then pulling from the rear into a better place to work. I was just going to put it in neutral. ...

I got the same thing from grainger.com and then I removed the adapter part and permanently put it on a grease gun.

Hi, I just got off the SAME website, and it looks like the smallest one is 70 HP, which puts it into the JD450 class. I'd like something smaller, or at worst no bigger. So I'll keep on looking at used JD350 and JD450 machines. I'm not holding my breath that there will be a new small crawler from De...

I don't want to rub anyone the wrong way or anything but I know deere and yanmar collaborate on many machines. I remembered seeing this one and thought you might be interested. Rubber tracks, and I don't know what they offer in the way of blades. I don't know if it would be as heavy duty or not. htt...

The rocker arm stud is the same as the valve cover stud. Look at the top of your valve cover and you will see the two studs sticking through the valve cover. Engine leveler will work, only thing I would worry about is the angle brackets on the ends of the chains putting side torque on the studs as ...
