Lavoy, ouch! that hurts. :) I think I'll keep them this time since I am in a hurry to get it out working. I'll check with you on the next parts for sure though. The past parts I have checked with you on weren't available so I was just thinking I had to go with the dealer. I got my seat fixed at the ...

Don, What happened to the old nut? Was it lost or just in bad shape? I would want an original replacement as well if I were in your shoes. I adjusted these a few weeks ago when I was correcting the shift levers for the bearing throwout and braking, and it would be a lot harder to do with a regular n...

Gary and Lavoy, A combination of your 2 methods is how I was thinking of going. I wanted to make some plates that would bolt to the rear of the steering clutch housings where the 4 bolt holes are and run square tube out and up. Wasn't sure where to mount the front component but the frame rail seems ...

440 ROPS Pictures or diagrams?

When I brought my 440 home the first thing I did was remove a homeade ROPS/ canopy that was more dangerous than what it was supposed to protect. Does anyone have a frame or cast mounted rops for their 440 that works well? I am looking for ideas on what to create. I'd rather it not touch the fenders ...

Just went to the john deere dealer today. They have industrial yellow but it is almost $6 a can! ouch.

I think I'll use the off name brand at the local farm store for $2.99 a can.

what color of yellow for 440?

I was all ready to buy some paint at the store last night, but there was jd yellow, industrial yellow, and cat yellow. What is the correct color for the 440? The color that is on it right now looks more golden than jd yellow.

Lavoy,

Yes I was referring to the gas engine. So you just remove the drain and put that in? No other freeze plug locations? I guess that works. :)

Anyone know what block heater one would use in these? I like the idea of putting a block heater in mine. (440ic).

There is a GE360 on the yesterdays tractor site, I am assuming that would work since it is for any jd 2 cylinder? $30. Not too bad.

just got a 440ic, some shifter help needed.

Hi, this is my first post here! I just brought home serial 444006, a 440ic crawler. Just checking everything over now and I am having some difficulty steering. Really works the engine when I pull back on a steering lever. Lots of play in the levers. Does this mean I need to adjust the steering linka...
