UPDATE well.. got it freed up... too much oil to use a torch... used a heat gun and held it on there for about 10 minutes and was able to suck some Kroil into the gaps after (what seems like hundreds) of back and forth movements. it wasn't bypassed, I just broke off what was there....interesting little deal they had on there, looks like someone bent pieces of wire to make their own little spring connector...

thanks... thought it had to be the whole piece of harness. already have Napa coming with one though. but at least this thread should help some other people out.

found it. Talked to a guy dealing with tractor wiring harnesses, and he said its the same as the connector for mid 70s GM air conditioning pumps.

what I was thinking was.. if the bronze disk was on top of the snap ring, it might have kept the hub out far enough that the hub scraped on the spring "cups"... Then wore enough that the spring hit the hub keeping the wear going so that it was able to keep going that deep. someone else suggested tha...

no snap rings missing that I noticed..

I don't remember exactly how it was when I took it apart. But what do you think about that worn hub that I posted earlier with the groove in it. Do you think that if the bronze disks were put in the same way, (with none of them put behind the snap ring) that it could cause that damage? ( I keep goin...
