Re: JD450C third head gasket This is getting old

Good morning, I was wondering through your rebuild thread and something caught my eye. In you air cleaner group of pictures, there is a pre-cleaner type setup(plastic dust collector type). That particular setup is for non-turbo engines. The parts catalog calls for a simple covered cap (AT33360) for ...

Re: Looking for 450 tool tray pictures or measurements

Good morning Sir, The 450C dozer with SN 313,xxx is requiring the wider straps and plate. The box is factory and original to the machine. There must be a SN break between my machines. The straps you have made fit perfectly into my two earlier machines, SN 238,xxx Thank you for the update. You have m...

Al,
I have sent a new email and some pics.

I’m super happy with the quality, construction, fit etc... I can’t say enough. Really nice wooden plate, tool tray and straps.

Wishing you good progress and success on your projects.

Re: I bought a 1010C dozer

I have read the glow plugs must be in working order and used. If you are concerned about the condition of the engine, it would be reasonable to check the compression. The steering clutches are the dry type, if the machine was stored outside the clutches are more likely to cause problems. I have been...

Re: Looking for 450 tool tray pictures or measurements

Hello Oldmetalmender,

Amazing, just absolutely awesome. Thank you for your trustworthiness, time, skill etc.... I cannot wait to get my hands on the cool stuff.

I think the tool tray anti-skid material is a great idea. I will keep you posted.

Best regards, Bruce

Re: Looking for 450 tool tray pictures or measurements

Good morning Al,

Glad to hear you made the trip without problems! I have only been that far West once. My Sister’s son married in Portland Oregon. Downtown was not the nicest, but outside of town was amazing.

PM sent for tray order.

Your work is flawless/spot-on. Thank you, Bruce

Re: lower carriage roller removal on a JD 450

Yes, 2 bolts on the inside, 2 bolts on the outside. And the roller drops out. I couldn’t open the pics, it wants me to put an app on the phone(sorry just not into apps).
