Re: Working on a model of a Lindeman crawler

I put an alternator on my crawler to power my 12 volt system. For better circulation of the water thru the engine, I built a water pump unit using the pump part off a mid 60's Jeep 4-cylinder engine. https://images2.imgbox.com/62/48/PzKiVO6s_o.jpg For the model, I machined these two parts out of a p...

Re: Working on a model of a Lindeman crawler

The Lindeman crawlers had a panel on the front of the radiator with louvers that can be opened or closed to regulate the water temperature. This louvered panel was missing when I got my crawler so I put a thermostat in the upper radiator pipe to control the water temperature. Then I built a grille g...

Re: Working on a model of a Lindeman crawler

This block will be the battery box and the gauge panel. The top of the box has counter sunk bolts holding it down and I'm drilling the counter bores here. https://images2.imgbox.com/63/49/7hH5dmTM_o.jpg I use a hand drill to drill a .020 diameter hole in the center of each counter bore. https://imag...

Working on a model of a Lindeman crawler

Like probably most Lindeman owners, I bought one of the little 1/16 scale models of the crawler. These are nice models but my crawler isn't original anymore so the model doesn't match it. I don't have heat in my garage so when the weather starts getting to cold ( or to hot ) to work out there, I sta...

Re: Working with my Lindeman crawler

Hi, Nice. It got the job done. I have never seen one with a loader on before. And that has to be the smallest motor grader I have ever seen. Stan Thank you . They never made a loader for the Lindeman crawler. The loader is off an old Massey Harris Ferguson tractor and I adapted it to fit on the cra...

Re: Lindeman brake bands

While putting the tracks back together on the left side, I had my trouble light shinning down thru the track chain and I notice something that looked like a small crack on the outside edge of the rear track roller. I had looked at all of the rollers when I first had the crawler torn down and rotated...

Re: Lindeman brake bands

It may be that your Dropbox is your personal storage site, not an image hosting site like the dedicated picture server for this site (or Imgur, Photobucket, etc.). When you are signed in you can read about the picture server if you go to the Messageboard Q&A and Announcements. You have to set up an...

Re: Lindeman brake bands

I see that only the link to my dropbox shows and not the photos themselves.
Not sure how to get the photos to show but I'll try to figure out how to make them work and correct them if I can.

Lindeman brake bands

It has been a long time since I have posted anything about my 1945 Lindeman here. ....... This is one of those times when I ask myself .... " what the heck were you thinking ? " Eight years ago, I was having some trouble with the drive clutches slipping on one side of my Lindeman crawler so I tore i...

That is a nice crawler conversion.
I like the way he formed the fenders out to fit along the top of the track.

Did you happen to notice the old crawler conversion in the background ?
It looks like an Oliver undercarriage with a Ford Model-A engine ( at least it has a 28 or 29 Model-A grill ).

Update on the 45 Lindeman restoration

I put the decals on the crawler to finish off the restoration. http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh182/jdcrawler/my%20crawlers/192_zps7b9e4301.jpg http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh182/jdcrawler/my%20crawlers/193_zps2c34a577.jpg http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh182/jdcrawler/my%20crawlers/19...
