Technical Manual
I think the best thing is to breakdown and buy the deere technical manual. It has a trouble shooting section and tells you how to test the components and adjust them.

2010 - not much of a machine compared to a 350 or 450
I did a complete rebuilt on a 2010, and it took almost 3 years to do. I find the 2010 much harder to work on that the 450 - i think that the 2010 engineers must have been run out and new ones hired as the 450 is a superior machine. Parts are also alot more scarce for the 2010, especially engine part...

450 dozer backhoe attachment
The book is correct in that you need a diverter valve to power the backhoe. It diverts the hydraulic flow from the dozer functions to the backhoe. If your crawler has one it would be under the right hand lid beside the operators seat. If you don't see one, then you have a couple options: 1. Buy the ...

John Deere 450G Dozer with Backhoe
We thought we better gear up for our upcoming utility construction season. We have 2 350C widepads loaders equiped with angle dozers and backhoes in service for over 25 years. Should make a good spare, except for soft ground. We keep a 450C Dozer Backhoe with 33" pads in reserve. The backhoe was ori...

Similar Problems
We had a similar problem with a 450C. The mechanic is on the right track - look for the pressure lines feeding the steering cluches as they have o-ring / rubber conectors between the pipes/case to channel the oil. This is the problem that we had. We bought the machine at auction in the dead row. Som...

Edmonton Alberta Again
I have an arch of a 450B, which i believe will fit a 350. Do not have a winch, very hard to find for the 350 since the input shaft is offset.

I have both a tool bar and a inside mount dozer for sale. Which one are you looking for? I am assuming you are looking for a complete package including valve, mounting brackets. Located close to Edmonton Alberta so not that far away.

Helping the Neighbors
We have a 540 Deere skidder that we use for clearing pipeline right of ways. We put a ripper on the back, which serves as a good anchor for winching out stuck equipment and use a snatch block to double the pulling power.
Have pulled out much larger equipment including D8's.

Engine Miss
Another issue beside the actual injection system and pump and be a plugged return line. To check this, remove the return line fitting on top of the injection pump and run it. Worst case senario, this isn't it and you dropped a little bit of diesel on the ground. We spent many hours a 3020 tractor an...

Track Frames
We run 2 350C widepad loaders equiped with hoes and have been doing so for 30 years. When we do a rebuild drill and tap the track frame to accept the largest bolt that will fit thru the cross member, therefore we do not use the bushings. The track frame must be 100% tight to the cross member. If not...

Track Install
We have never tried installing the master pin first and then putting the track chain on. This could be very difficult, even more if you have rock guards. We put the bare chain on the tractor first, put your end pieces on the sprocket with comealongs in each direction. Then cut a piece of pipe that f...

Demo'd one and didn't like it
I tried a 450C our a RB auction with a foot throttle. Worked but there just isn't much room. Would me nice though. I just leave the engine reved up and use the cluch to shift instead of idling down. I think i would prefer the hand throttle located beside the reverser lever (350B and up only) like th...

Big job but worth it.
We just did the same repair on a 350 dozer. Best bet is to remove the hardnose, fenders, hydraulic tank. It is really difficult to remove the frame rail if the dozer or loader is left on, but it is possible. Also, unbolt the frame rail on both sides of the track frames (from the sides and bottom). L...

Wow, expensive
I can't beleive the cost is $3K. The cost on our conversion was zero, except for about 4 hours of labour. We had all the hoses and fittings on hand.
