I moved a 62 blade assembly including the sub frame in my Tundra with no problem. I would guess it weighed maybe 800-900 lbs.

Thanks, I guess I never really thought about how it worked, I just assumed that the new style was significantly better. I will just make sure to change the oil regularly.

Air Filter Upgrade?

Has anyone upgraded their air filter to a modern paper element-type? It kind of made me crindge running my 40c with less than 100hrs on the motor in dusty conditions with that filter setup.

I dunno, maybe the stock setup works better than I think, but....

I am not familiar with the JD diesels, but I had an old IH crawler that there was no way to bleed all the air from the filter housings unless a bit of air pressure was applied to the fuel tank.

Nice looking machine, and looks like the same Carco winch that I have on my 40c. I see wood slides in place of the top rollers, was this primarily a winter machine?

FWIW, my 40c would barely run when I got it. New cap, rotor, wires, points and plugs and it now starts and runs better than anything else in my "fleet".

Wiilyr that your 60

Went to Mardens last nite in Ellsworth and there was some old iron in the lot for in front of Tractor Supply. Thought I saw a 60 in the lineup (wife would not slow down so I could get a good look). That yours?

Maybe your loader arms are different, but I just used an open ended wrench on my 40c. The throw was limited, but it just took some patience. I found that backing off a inch or so on the back nut and using a porta power between the track frame and front idler took the tension off the adjuster nut, ma...

As others have said, check the cables as one of the first things. When I got my 40c it came with a brand new battery but it would turn over. Very well to do guy owned it and his estate manager gave up trying to figure out why it would not turn over. I got it for the as-is price :D. Took me and a fam...

Yep, forget about life. But I guess that is the point of wrenching on rusty old junk as well, lol.

I believe we are coming this year third week in July. Didn't know there were any shows in the area. My kids would love to go if there is one on that week.
