That makes me feel better about bringing back my 450c. No burns but I did almost remove a finger with the lid on the hydraulic tank.

It's a machined part. Does the edge have tool marks on it?

I'd have to say if it is worn, the brake must have been dragging alot. Is there heat or metal to metal damage? Is the band wear area flat? Is there any brake material on the band?

I have a new headless one on its way from Amazon. I'm out of town till late in the week so it'll be next weekend before I know for sure.

So even the different types are interchangeable?
