Re: JD350 thru JD350D Serial Numbers
Could it be a B with the 3 -152 engine having wet clutches that was built during the overlap with the C production starting? Stan touched on such occurring earlier in this thread.

Re: JD350 thru JD350D Serial Numbers
Welcome to the Boards. You have a 350B. From the Introduction to the 350B on the JD Parts website: The first four places are the model. The fifth place is how it is equipped. However, they do not show a C option (not to say their list doesn't have a misprint or your plate might be stamped wrong). Wh...

Re: 420C right steering clutch slippage.
A couple thoughts, easy checks for starters.
How is the adjustment?
Take the cover off the steering clutch compartment and look inside to see if things are contaminated.

This may help. This link will take you to the parts catalog and I think I have the right page open for your lines. You can use the arrows at the top of the page to scroll to other pages. Are the seals you got the right part number? https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/sidebyside/equipment/67961/refer...

Re: 1010C radiator
If the radiator shop said it was that bad, shop leak is definitely not an option. $1200 may be your best option. You will know what you have then. You will have to decide if your crawler is worth that cost. One shows up on eBay for $2200 plus shipping. Some have taken the measurements of their radia...

Re: 1010C radiator
Have you taken it to a radiator shop to see if they can repair it?
Too much stop leak may cause problems with plugging the passages (tubes) in the core.

Re: MC Starter Weak, Replace or Rebuild?
I will not recommend you buy a "rebuild kit" off the internet. If you don't have the instructions and tools to recondition and test every component of your starter, you might end up with the same as you currently have even after you install the few parts in a kit. Your service manual should have a s...

Re: Fly wheel questions
Have you had this a while and the problem developed or did you acquire it with this problem? When you say it grinds do you mean it spins but won't engage? What is the voltage across the terminals of each battery, not running? What is the voltage at the solenoid's battery cable terminal, not running?...

Re: What gas for an old 420c?
I run 87 octane with 10% ethanol in all my gas engines, not many places around with ethanol free around here. I don' have any problems with it. I don't use additives, like lead substitutes, other than maybe a shot of Seafoam or Marvel Mystery oil now and again the same as I did with leaded gas. The ...

Re: JD 440IC Steering Clutch Adjustment
This may be just a difference in terminology however "All the way back" on the throwout bearing means it is away from the pressure plate to me. All the way out would indicate it was at the outer end of the slot, towards the pressure plate, as dtoots1 is suggesting. You have to use a third-party ho...

Re: 400G Owners
It would be best if you start by making a list of the parts you are looking for from the parts catalog, by parts catalog name, part number, and quantity required. Here is a link to the 400G Parts Catalog (PC2209) open to the drawbar page, which shows the parts you are looking for, I think. They are ...
