Hey Lavoy, is that pic up there a pic of the reproduction seat frame you sell? (Just a little suspicious of repro quality after getting some junk off eBay)
How much does the LOWER frame cost? I can repair mine if necessary though I do need the seat itself.

Great thread, I love trading advice like this. I had never heard of drilling a hole and using heat or welding to shrink something. My father does use a similar method to remove seriously stuck pins by burning a hole through them with an exothermic torch (sometimes a couple feet deep). The pins get s...

That is what my operator's manual says for 4 roller tracks, but for 5 roller tracks it's only 1/2" to 3/4" of sag on each side of the upper roller because the upper roller reduces the span and consequently the amount of droop with a given tension.Lavoy wrote:About an inch and a half of sag give or take.

Your pop-up problem is probably add-ons added to your Internet Explorer. Go to TOOLS and MANAGE ADD-ONS and disable anything you don't recognize. You can always turn them back on if you disable some functions you do want. That is what I thought it was. I tried disabling everything and still the pop...

http://www.fantasticdamage.com/portfolio/print/p_CtcNewCircleColor.jpg Just kidding guys! I really like how clean this site is. I hate how marketing has gotten these days. Actually the reason I haven't posted in a few weeks is my computer got attacked by spyware on October 23. Those spammers must h...

It's a good idea to remove spark plug wires and wrap the distributor in plastic. Other electrical parts can handle some water, but be careful as some parts (gauges) are meant to be watertight and pressure washers will blow water past the seals. Stay away from decals, only use a light spray with them...

If the ear is missing that complicates things. I would find steel plate the thickness of the broken ear and use a torch to cut out the correct shape to replace it, then braze this to the casting. Cast iron really should only be repaired by brazing or stitching. The grain structure is not able to str...

I've been told welding lead won't handle the same current as real battery cable. The fine strands are for pliability when welding (low current draws). I did actually see one machine that had welding cable for a battery cable, and cranked so slowly as to be impossible to start in the cold, then the c...
