I use the industrial for prior to 1982 or whatever it is. Old Cat yellow may be close, but it is I think more yellow than the Deere industrial yellow.

No, the heater you are referring to is most like to fit ONLY the Waterloo built two cylinder tractors. There was never a factory listing for a block heater for the Dubuqe built two cylinder engines. Most likely you will see them with a tank heater or hose heater, but hose heaters do not work on them...

The gas will not have the torque of the diesel. Additionally, you will need a lot more than just an engine, you may need radiator, most likely will need a different exhaust manifold, hood, fuel lines, throttle linkage, and a few other things that I can not think of right now. It is not a simple thro...

Block heater for a 2-53 is a spefic item. I would check with a local Detroit dealer, or at least a good parts house. The one you are referring to I would guess is the drain plug heater for the horizontal two cylinder tractors only. As for fuel blends, up here most of the stations go to 50/50 at leas...

The quill will come out with the clutch housing on, but will not like it. The tolerance is not very big between the quill and the clutch housing, so dirt gets in there, and kind of rusts it togehter. If you have the back cover off, you can hit on the inside of the quill a little bit, and that will u...

Not sure who you would get it through, but check with a local diesel shop, they may know. The other thing is, if you asked the parts guys, they probably would not know. Go talk to the service manager, things like that are ordered through "service tools", not necessarily directly through the parts de...

440 and 1010 are quite similar. Undercarriage is about the same, 1010 is 4 bolt pads instead of 2 bolt. 440 has a clutch type reverser, 1010 a full hyd reverser if either is equipped with a reverser. 2 cylinder vs. 4 cylinder of course. If you are used to the low RPM torque of a 2 cylinder, a 1010 c...
