I do not see how you could operate one without the controller. The clutches are hydraulicaly actuated. I suppose if you could jam the clutches so they are always engaged, and then cut or otherwise defeat the brake band, it might work. The part numbers for the integral cylinders really don't do you any good. Everything inside of the cylinders is o-rings and backups, readily available at any good hyd shop.
