Thanks Lavoy. I will. About the 10 spacer pipes... The id of the spacer pipe is .824 on jdparts.com. The original bolt that goes through it is 5/8. I Think i will install 3/4 threaded rod in there. Rock guard to track frame bolts are all 9/16 now from previous repair i guess. Some more work ahead.

Scottyb, thanks for your input. That s exactly why the dozer is in the garage this winter for. I don t want to throw a track off in the woods anymore... i will install them. Better work in the garage than in the mud trying to be back on tracks.

Thanks pop pop. If it helps guiding the rails i will install them otherwise it would be off to help self cleaning. Do you think roller flanges alone are not enough?
Thanks

I will install new rollers and hardware, paint them etc. I ve been told to not put the rock guards on because they just pack the mud, dirt between them and break bolts. Especially if they don t help to guide the chain, i m thinking about not installing them. What is your idea on that? I use the doze...

Hello Johnny O, It depends on how fast you need that case. I could get a decent one and bring it near Matane when the occasion shows up... (empty case). A friend of mine bought a cabin that was the property of a mechanic owning many jd crawlers. He kept a lot of spare parts. I'm more into 440 and th...

I have had the exact same thing, bearing roller was laying in the bottom of the final drive and came around with the bull gear. New bull gear, pinion gear, final case and bearings later, I was all ready to go. In other words, shut it down immediately until the source is discovered, gets real spendy...

Hi, I don't know much about reversers because both of my 440 have a bypass shaft through the case but one thing you can do is look where it quits spinning. That will isolate the problem. You have to do the checks in the situation that creates the problem, pushing or climbing. Something is slipping o...

Thanks for the advices Ben. Carb will definitely be cleaned and rebuilt next spring. I noticed it wasn't very clean inside... I'll go through valve adjustment again. It might be off a bit.

Did you work a bit lately with yours?

That's good then. I never reached red color yet! I set the timing using 'manual' method then I used a timing light to verify it. It was good. I have another question  ... With the replacement head i borowed from bull 1... When i give throttle, the acceleration goes smoothly. If I go quickly to...
