A big shout out to Lavoy, Love you man! Today finished tightening the last nuts and bolts on my 420-C and tensioned and aligned the tracks and she is back in business WAHOO!! Now to work! Thanks again Lavoy!

Hi all, been awhile since I've been here. Rebuilding my right hand idler assembly with a lot of help from Lavoy, bless his little heart! Anyway one of the new/used brackets has a little ovaling where the shaft fits and I can't seem to get it to slip on. I micd it at 25.40 mm but it narrows slightly ...

What do you mean by "a lot of work" did you fabricate yourself? Thats awesome, what kind of wire feed do you use? I have a stick but am looking for wire feed.

Has anyone an opinion on types of oil for an older JD crawler, detergent or not, friction additives? any additives?synthetics? With all the new tech on oils I'm torn between upgrading or sticking with the tried and true 10/W30 plain old oil?Any help on this is,as always much appreciated

Sorry Jim I had about 8 things going on here at once and didn't proof read. It's a JD- L 420-C. The springs are about a 1/4" off factory specs, big deal? I am not sure, the problem is the adjusting nut will not budge, do I worry about or is a 1/4" no biggee?

Any ideas on this, My spring measures 1/4" shy of the factory specs, should that be a concern or chalk it up to years and wear, I can't get the adjusting nut to budge, soaked for three days still nothing? Spring pressure must be holding, how to release pressure so I can adjust if necessary? Thanks f...

I carried the .1204 to far is all, it's still .120 or close the bushings vary a little side to side, probabably should replace, still almost an 1/8" thats too much, so let me know what you can supply.

Front Idler torn apart roller shaft mics 0.020 diff than factory specs, roller bushings mic.1204 diff, replace ? do it now cuz it's tore apart, let it go cuz it's a tractor by gosh?As always any help will be appreciated to the max
