Drott 4 in 1 clam cylinder, need to straighten or replace

Hi guys, Has anyone replaced a Drott clam cylinder, or rebuilt one? Mine is the 2 cylinder type, 3/4 yard bucket on a JD350. One cylinder rod is bent right at the end near the packing, and the packing is shot. I could probably pound it out straight, but still need to find the seal kit or new packing...

OKay Idaho, Any chance you could post a few pics of the problem areas? Would be easier to see what is going on.

Cheers

Is this your blade style, manual, wedges and 3 holes in the support frame? http://www3.telus.net/radioboy/DSCN4553.JPG If so, when I replaced one of my pins, I used heavy wall pipe that just fit nicely in the holes. It has stood up for over 10 years now without giving. Cheap and I had it in stock. T...

Well WOOOOO HOOOOO!!! :D :D :D It works! I can steer both left AND right again. It was a completely organic repair, no chemicals or artificial stimulants were used. I started it this AM and drove it to the bottom of the driveway and just went back and forth with it, feeling the the brakes grabbed be...

The more the gap, the more likely they are moisture swelled ... you need to get that freeplay out of there. Lavoy I forgot to mention, that I did remove the slack before I took it for a spin. I will play with it tomorrow and keep you posted. Lavoy, I know you have basically said to others in the sa...

Well that was easy!! I cut off the lock on the fuel tank, checked the dip stick and it was dry....okay. Opened the fuel line at the valve and nothing came out so I rinsed the tank and let it drain into a white margarine container and it looked clean. Filled it up, bled the lines and she fired...

And the fun begins...she's here and off the deck truck and may be out of fuel...or something else. Only runs for 30 seconds then dies. It ran fine for 5 minutes when we first looked at it..so it can't be too serious. Fuel level, tank screen, main filters, transfer pump screen or IP input screen. Did...

1968 JD350 Drott 4 in 1 loader arrived.Sticky clutches FIXED

Hi guys, An exciting day here on the farm with a new addition to the family...a 1968 JD350 arrives, with the Drott 4 in 1 in pretty decent condition. Hasn't really run much in 3 years, just started once in a while, has a stuck right clutch and puffs a little grey/blue, but the fuel is 7 years old an...

Thanks for the info. apparently my 350 doesn't have a filter. It is the narrow tank. Has anyone installed a inline filter on the return supply line? I have a 1965 machine, outside mount dozer and has no filter either. There is lots of room in the tank side compartment, below the control valves for ...

HI Guys, I just got around to pulling it apart last night and found the shaft had simply worked its' way out of the housing. The roller and bushings and oil were all fine, inside the roller itself. I just tapped the shaft back into the housing and put it back on. If it looks like it will work its' w...

Hi JT, Thanks for the quick reply. Well, I think the oil is inside the roller itself, looking at the parts diagram it looks like the seal is right at the back of the roller. The roller spins very freely on the shaft and has just a little end play, maybe .050"?? The bushings feel just fine. We do reg...

JD350 track carrier roller shaft coming out of the housing..

Hi guys, I just found this forum again in search for some help on the track roller carrier problem. I forgot we have a dedicated JD Crawler forum...great!! As far as I know, this is the original setup...it was like this when I got it. It's the only way I can see it working without redesigning the blade attachment arms.

Good luck! Glad I could help.

Cheers

Hi Lazy Logger, First post here...been reading for a while and just got registered. I have your solution if you haven't figured it out yet...I have the identical dozer and the problem is, those 1" vertical shafts that hold the arms to the wedge blade mounts, shouldn't go all the way through, they ne...
