Re: 450c steering clutch fluid check
Yes, just missed 1977 by a few. The fill plug for the steering housings is also the full site; if the crawler is not a common sump. I don’t know the SN when common sumps were born; I’m not sure anyone knows. And there are some crawlers that have been converted to common sump. One way to confirm or d...

Re: 450c steering clutch fluid check
All C series have the fill plug(s) in the steering case. Crawlers converted to common sumps or born common sumps have thread locker on those plugs. The use of the plugs is abandoned, as the common sump fluid level is higher than those plugs. And the fluid level is followed by the dipstick.

Re: 450c steering clutch fluid check
Hello Jeffrey D, Do you know if your machine has a “common sump”? If it does, there is no need to check the individual R and L steering clutch housings. The trans, R and L sumps can be common in the “C” series. The fluid is checked with the dipstick under the operator seat. Are you certain this is a...

The plate with the large hole in it is likely the front attachment for a drawbar. https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/sidebyside/equipment/73571/referrer/navigation/pgId/223797 https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/sidebyside/equipment/73571/referrer/navigation/pgId/223808 Looks like a 1975, according...

Re: 450c stump pan assembly
Hello 8thnotch, Here is the JDeere parts catalog link/pictures. There is the bottom guard for the engine then there is a short or long rear bottom guard. I believe the short one works with the rear counter weight. I believe it actually bolts to the weight IIRC. https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/si...

Re: JD 350b weights
To address the traction issue, I would try loading with the bucket towards the rear of the trailer. Even with the heavier 4 in 1, I believe the center mass is towards the rear of the track loader.

Hello Sir, Forestry package or brush guards are in the parts. Here is a https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/sidebyside/equipment/67823/referrer/navigation/pgId/224194 NLA - no longer available. Might get luck and find a ROPS in a breaker yard with a brush guard. I’m not aware of a secondary manufact...

Re: JD450B won’t steer
According to Stan’s SN post in the FAQ section, you crawler is a 1971 B series (I initially mis-read your SN as 112,xxx). So dry clutches. Tear done a rebuild, sorry. Bruce

Re: JD 450C 3325 Winch issue
Hello Sir, Jim B has offered some very good advice. Looking under the rear of the crawler, up under the winch, can be pretty dirty. Clean this area well for visual access. There will be a internally splined coupler bxt the winch drive shaft and the winch input shaft. There should be a roll/spring pi...

Re: 450C, No drive on right side, no fluid pressure
The regulator is mounted in the engine compartment on the right side above the starter on the cowl wall. If there, it is likely not functioning, if not there, then you have found your problem.
