Ok thank you,
So looks like disassembly and trying to cut the back of the pin off is where I'm likely at. They are very solid and not loose. Both pins are the same so it's hard to say what someone has done.
Thanks for the input.

40c final drive housing pin
Hello I a working on fixing my final drives (thank you Lavoy for the parts) and I have encountered a problem with one of my drives. On the inside of the housing there are two pins that sit in the clutch housing. Do or are these pins supposed to move? I am finding that both pins on one drive are not ...

Re: 440ic Frozen Engine
Just my 2 cents.....I've had good luck with seafoam and ATF in the plug ports. Takes a couple weeks but does work to unstick rings if that's what it is. Just used this method to unstick an old tractor but definitely depends on how bad things are....good luck to you.

Re: Engine swap
Sam Found it in my junk folder.. Just an update on this regarding the center frame, incase someone in the future reads this. When I test fit this onto my machine I must have been half sleeping....420 center frame will not fit....the bottom bolts on the transmission are spaced differently. I somehow ...

Re: Engine swap
Unfortunately both the center frame and the where the engine mounts onto the center frame on the original parts have been badly damaged at some point and there was significant welding done. Call was made to replace them with this setup and hope for the best.

Re: Engine swap
So I have been trying to fit the center frame from the 420 onto my 40 and found there are a number of differences in the center frame but nothing too major. Seems to be a second set of mounting holes on the front of the 420 center frame that interfere with the 40 side frame. The shaft had different ...

Hello
I was wondering if I am going to have issues trying to swap a 420 engine into a 40.

Re: 40c Project
That roller cabinet I bought used a while back and it's my favorite out of the 3 I use - a real classic. The trouble with these sorts of projects are you are always getting new tools for different jobs. Things you never knew you needed...lol I picked up my paint yesterday from the dealership.....I t...

40c Project
https://i.imgur.com/XkZctAJ.jpg Hi I'd like to thank those of you who have already help me get started with this project. I inherited this crawler from my late father who had it kicking around ever since I can remember. Anyway I have pretty much tore it into pieces and have started the long tenuous...

Re: Thoughts on this
Well luck has shined down on me. My uncle had said he had a replacement engine for me from years ago when he had the same crawler. He told me he had saved it in case my father needed it. I went to see him this morning as my engine has some major problems and he actually has the entire front end, bum...

Re: Thoughts on this
Is the center frame the same on all 40 series tractors? Looks like they are to me. I was hoping they were just small cracks but once the engine was out the hope was gone. It has been like this for 36 years at the minimum. My father owned this since 1980 or so. From the tags on it, it was used in a m...
