transmission troubleshooting question
I've been looking at a 440IC this past weekend. It does not have an engine in it. I tried to turn the shaft that goes into the transmission by hand. It would not budge (yes it was in nuteral). 440 IC transmission
Is there a access plate in the top of the 5 speed transmission housing under the seat? I'm looking at one that has a 3X5in steel plate bolted to it.
Thanks

440 IC parts that will fit on a 420C
I'm looking at buying a 440 IC for a parts machine for my 420C (the 440 does not run, engine is frozen). Can someone tell me what parts will swap directly from the 440 to my 420? I'm mostly conserned with the transmission, final drives, sprockets & tracks.
Thank you.
Brian

I have seen a similar wheel tractor model (in The Big Book Of John Deere Tractors), made by JD but sold in Spain as a vineyard model. JD partnered with Goldoni. In the link below, there is a wheel tractor with the same fold down style ROPS. http://www.midvalley-goldoni.com/nonJS/AboutUs/History/hist...

Will the steering clutch housings from a 440IC under s/n 448,000 bolt onto a 420C?

MC 1000 TOOL CARRIER
Lavoy, I have a MC1000 tool carrier with the 6" Blade, that I'm thinking about selling. The tool carrier is complete including the pins to attach to the tractor and to the blade. Tool carrier has the Yakima serial number tag still attached (AN 7xx range). Both adjusting cranks work. If I was go gues...

left clutch makes the engine RPM drop
I just picked up a 420C this weekend. The search is finally over...
Let the games begin...
When pulling on the left clutch, the engine RPM drops the tractor does turn. Do I need to pull the final drive or is this just an adjustment?
Thanks for your help.
