Maybe the bushing in the distributor is worn enough that the points are changing their gap and causing excessive wear. Give the points shaft a wiggle to check for slop. gregjo1948

I've had both winches and prefer the G. Too much to go wrong with the A. Good idea to install safety bearier between operator and winch on either and especialy the G. Seems to me that, the rebuild kits come with 2 idle jet screws and possably the wrong one was installed. gregjo1948

I 'm thinking the pressure plate springs may have failed which would give you no resistance on the lever. It would be as if the clutch was already applied. Probably time to tear apart. gregjo1948

If you can get the engine freed up, try bumping the dozer into a tree or something that won't move easily. Hold the turning clutch back. I have also had luck freeing by holding the clutch and snapping the main drive clutch. The quick jolt will sometimes break it loose. It seems to work better in a h...

If you rebuild a 430 or 420, you need deep pockets. If you rebuild both, does it mean you need deep pockets x2 ? :) gregjo1948
