Re: Old IH crawlers
Check out King of Obsolete on the web. He keeps a small fleet of TD6's-TD9's and TD18's building ice roads and hauling cat trains in northern Manitoba. So far as AC's go there are still a few HD5's and 6's kicking around in northern BC. When high way maintenance was still done by the provincial gov...

WOW, where to start? First you should search the for sale ads here to see what others are asking for/selling MCs for. 2. Pictures. Pictures will do more to help sell something than you would believe. 3. They ain't worth nothing, but if you deliver it to me I won't charge you for taking it off your h...

Nice Digger by the way. I don't have one, nor do I have a specific use for one, but I suppose if I had one (of any size) I would use it for far more then I imagined I ever would. My dream right now is to get a JD 850 or bigger in the next few years so I can clear more land. Until then the JD 350 D ...

Used Lavoy's name in vane.....
Lavoy, There is a guy here in MN who bought an IH T340. His undercarriage is about shot. He owns a CNC shop and is looking for specs on the track links, pins and bushings. Actually made a comment about it maybe another line he could make and sell. I told him to PM me and a little about you and what ...

Insurance thread rant
It got me to thinking (can you smell the smoke, kinds like burning cow chips)? Well this is my rant. Long winded one too. Too many folks, trying to spend wisely, often buy cheap insurance. The real big problems are HOME, AUTO and FARM. This really is the case where you get what you pay for. In the f...

Sounds like an excuse to buy a "back up tractor"! :D They really are like potato chips, one is never enough! I'm trying to convince my wife that I need (as in have to have) one tractor for each implement! So I need 8 more utility sized tractors, 4 more 40-50 HP tractors (one should be a crawler), an...

Re: Huber road maintainer
Thinking of getting a Huber road maintainer, I do some camp roads that are to tight for a regular grader to get into. So, anyone have experience with these machines? Weak points to look for, the good, bad and indifferent? Terry I ran one, very used, about 30 years ago. Didn't really have many probl...

Stan, IH made a lot of crawlers. But on all of the old ones, both AG and construction they are better off in collections, not being used. When the idlers, rollers, sprockets and chains are worn out they are done. It's scrap or a lawn ornament. There are some really good sales films that you can find...

The big problem is parts. I had TD5 that I got as a project. No track parts available. No rollers or sprockets. Few engine parts other than rebuild stuff. The older TD 6's and bigger had the gas start diesel engines and they had a tendency to crack heads (operator error) and new heads are unavailabl...
