Does anyone use a block heater on a diesel 1010 for cold weather use?
Is there a factory heater available and where would it mount?

Another 1010c steering clutch question
If indeed the steering clutches are rusted stuck due to water leaking in through ungasketed clutch covers or splashed in left-open drains on the bottom of the housing, is the only repair option to break down the machine and repair/replace the clutch discs or is it possible to do anything at all thro...

If your main problem is that you do not have space to position a drill to drill out the broken bolts, you may have a different, and a better solution. Typically the best way to remove a bolt where just the head has sheared off, is to position a nut over the broken bolt and weld it on through the ce...

From the looks of the rear crossbar, the drawbar attachment point is in the center of the crossbar; if I can slide the crossbar so the end clears the inner side of the final drive I could remove the block and then slide it the other way and remove the other side block. My question is will the crossb...

Broken bolts in rear crossbar mounts
I am in deep doodoo. 4 of the 8 bolts {2 on each side} that hold the rear crossbar clamp to the final drive are broken. I am in the process of removing the threaded mounting blocks that are bolted to the final drive housings in which the broken bolts reside so I can have them drilled out In order to...

Update Oops
The PO of this machine did a lot of sketchy repairs over the years but this one was actually an update as he replaced the original adjuster with one from a 350. They are the same size but the 350 uses a seal that is slipped on The ordered 1010 seal kit has a bolt on leather seal. The local JD dealer...

You have it right about the seal. The fools at John Deere ordered the wrong part so now I am up a creek without a seal and my rig is in pieces. I will call them tomorrow about getting the correct seal A little hard to tell what you are describing, but apparently you are working on the track tension ...

hydraulic track adjuster repair jd 1010 crawler
I have gotten the track and front idler off and can see the seal in the front tube and on the piston end but cannot figure out how to remove either. The tube seal appears to be held in by a metal washerlike piece that seems rusted to the tube and is not obviously removeable. The new seal is stiff an...
