does the machine start pretty easily from cold, if it does I would guess the internals are ok....low compression they crank excessively to start. you could always rig up a temporary fuel supply direct into your pump to rule out fuel starving. what will happen if you lift your blade all the way up an...

my machine has the glow system built into switch....all the way counter clock wise for glow... all the way clockwise to start.
have you checked for power to the plugs while glowing?
are the glow plugs all good?
hope it turns out to be something easy for you.

I have to ask if your 4 glow plugs are good, and if you are using them correctly. that diesel requires glowing to start and glowing after it begins to run. if you glow it to start and then let it run without glowing until it clears up it will fart, smoke and sound like it has 3 dead holes...mine wil...

when the pins and bushings wear to the point of no more adjustment, the chain also doesn't match the pitch of the sproket anymore, this in turn causes rapid wear and you will feel the chain crunching up onto the sprocket because the two parts don't match up anymore as they revolve around. how much d...

you seem to be at a crossroads, trans case can also be replaced, stripped bolts repaired etc, it just depends on how much time and money you want to put into it.

you have gone through the trouble to tear down the machine to get to the clutch, at this point you should replace everything that looks worn or used up. I know the money part stinks, but it stinks alot more to put it all back together with worn parts.....your just pulling finals for nothing. I also ...

the fact you can move around in 3rd and 4th, suggests your reverser, and ring gear are ok that is good news.
this points to the actual transmission having jammed gear(s), out of place fork, bent fork, bad bearing, etc.
did you have any strange noises going on before this happened?

it almost sounds like your hung up in 1st and 2nd gear at the same time, not sure if that is possable or not, I agree with Lavoy pull the shift cover off and see if a fork or someting is out of place.

if you want a crawler to have around and do your projects and improvements go for it and get one if you just need work done it is cheaper to get the work done as needed. owning a crawler is a love/hate type if thing, most of us have our machines because they are fun to use and we get satisfaction ke...

I would put the proper thermostat in it, running without a thermostat, causes the coolant to circulate full bore all the time, this can actually cause "hot spots" in the engine cooling passages because the coolant is traveling so fast around the system it doesn't pickup any heat and remove to the ra...

years ago we went from hauling a 350 dozer around to a 450 loader....our chevy c 60 six wheel dump was not happy about the switch, had to get a bigger truck to be safe, get someone with the equipment to haul it safely, lot of weight there.

once you get them to drive it, a few minutes later they get this serious look on there face and they start looking down at the blade to see how it is grading and at that point it is over....you will need to get another crawler so you have something to use!!

I would be scared to walk around on cement with a 450.
unless the cement is extra thick you may crack or break off a chunk.
that machine is surprising heavy for it's size.
