Thanks for the replies. That can of paint is gone will try another. Do spray cans go bad? I bought them from the local JD Dealer, no idea how long they had been on the shelf.

Old Construction Yellow Paint

I painted a few small parts today with JD Old Construction Yellow paint from a spray can. I sprayed three coats in order to cover without running. When the paint dried it was surprisingly dull, almost like a flat yellow. Is this normal for the OCY paint?
Thanks - Dave

Lavoy,
Did you ever have any luck making some of these spacers? I am in need of a pair.
Thanks Dave

MC on Ebay

What kind of shoes/pads are these? They look like MC pads, but they have a hole in the center like snow pads. Did they make snow pads in the MC style pad? I have never seen any before. They look like the center hole is extruded, does not look like they have been cut it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1952-...

420/430 Water Pump

I am attempting to disassemble/repair a water pump off a 420 motor, per the service manual. I pulled the back half of the pulley off as instructed. The manual then said to remove bearing retaining clip (R1529R). When I attempted to remove the old rusty clip of course it snapped off :( down inside th...

Clutch Facing AM3791T vs. AM2575T

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between these clutch facings?
In the 420/430 parts book, the AM3791T is listed for crawlers (C), while the AM2575T is listed for all others (H,I,S,T,U,V & W). Will the AM2575T not work crawlers? Thanks - Dave

Stuck tracks???

The engine on the crawler in question appears to be stuck. I don't know if the tracks are stuck. I need to move the crawler, but don't want to hurt anything by dragging it. Does anyone know of an easy/safe way to verify if the tracks are stuck on a crawler that does not run without damaging somethin...

I would be interested in one for a 420.
I see that you say one of the gauges cover the 40, 420, 430, 440, 1010, 2010. Does that mean the older track system, BO, MC & early 40 are not covered?
Thanks!

JD450B Solenoid

I have a friend with a 450B crawler. He is looking for a replacement fuel solenoid for his injector pump. AR48219 is the part number and Deere site says it is no longer available. Does anyone know of a good source for this part? Thanks!

There is another complete 440 diesel with blade, average to decent chains and sprockets with a partial 3-point sitting in a junkyard a couple hours from me for $2500. Was debating on getting both, making one and selling the leftover parts, but I can't seem to make up my mind...
