Back on Nov. 29, 2023 he posted he had a starter ordered.
This past Saturday he started a new post, "450 C Not Starting but runs on ether when sprayed", so I think the starter issue is passed. I gave him some things to check but haven't heard back on results.

Re: 450 C Not Starting but runs on ether when sprayed
It might be the ring, but that usually shows up as losing power and stalling, not refusing to start after setting for a while. Infact they often will restart with a failing ring after they set a while and the pressure in the pump bleeds off. It is the check valve in the excess fuel line from the top...

Re: 450 lubrication point clutch throwout bearing
I'm going to be lazy, not take and post pictures, or type all you asked about. Do you have the Operator's Manual OMT23808? It has the lube and maintenance info. If you have one check it out. If you don't have an Operators manual, you should have one. Use this link to the JD Construction and Forestry...

Re: 450 C Not Starting but runs on ether when sprayed
No glow plugs. How much fuel in the tank? Stranger things than running out of fuel have happened. You might have an electrical issue. It should have an electric shut off solenoid inside the Injection pump. You may hear a click when the switch is turned on, when the solenoid engages. Check to see if ...

Re: 440icd info
Does your 440 have the reverser (the forward and reverse handle on the left side of the console)? If so that is not gear oil in that. It was originally Type A transmission fluid which is often more difficult to get now and is not the same as the original formulation. I believe JD Hy Gard or another ...

Re: Electrical issue when starting
moving the cable is making contact again, temporarily and very light, not capable of carrying the current needed. Bad spot could be in the terminal or the cable. It is possible the battery has an internal break at the post. Do voltage drop tests.

Re: Electrical issue when starting
Could be a bad cable. Watch the voltage at the starter solenoid terminal when trying to start. Even a bad cable can pass enough power to give a voltmeter reading, but not supply a real load.

Welcome to the Boards. If you do not have an Operator's manual for it use this link to go to the John Deere Construction and Forestry Bookstore. You can download a free copy of the manual (publication # OMT73459) and save it to your computer. Here is a link that should take you to the manual. Use th...

Re: JD350 thru JD350D Serial Numbers
It is correct that the B parts catalog does not support the wet clutches. The C catalog does have both the 152 and the 164 engines. So, the old story of them building B's with wet clutches would appear incorrect, and the story that the C's had 164 engines is only partially true as both engines are i...

Re: Any farm tractor guys on here ? Need help
I believe he can get help with his Yanmar on the Yesterday's Tractors YANMAR Forum, as I posted above. At least one of the fellows that followed the transfer from Hoye Tractor to YT seems to have access to a good number of Yanmar manuals and printed materials including for gray market machines. He h...

Re: Any farm tractor guys on here ? Need help
I will respectfully disagree with you on this one. The handle is going into the rockshaft/3 point hitch hydraulics area, I doubt it is for decompression control (engine). I think it is either a control for drop speed or stop position of the 3-point hydraulics, same as you, Lavoy, and I posted a year...

Re: Any farm tractor guys on here ? Need help
This is a year-old post and we never heard back from pearljam724 with any results related to the suggestions given. However, in case this comes up again. At the end of 2023 the Yanmar Site that was sponsored by HOYE Tractor was integrated into a discussion forum on the Yesterday's Tractors website. ...

Re: JD350 thru JD350D Serial Numbers
Could it be a B with the 3 -152 engine having wet clutches that was built during the overlap with the C production starting? Stan touched on such occurring earlier in this thread.
