Re: Question for woodworkers

Using drywall screws, not bothering to countersink them. The ceiling is done used that method, the screw heads make a neat pattern. Ran the boards on 45 degree angle, looks really good. This is all recycled wood from a house I torn down so it has old nail holes and such, gives it a lot of character....

Re: Saving manuals that are coming apart

How about just separate the pages since they are coming apart anyhow. Get a three hole punch at Staples or where ever and put them in a ring binder.

Re: Making Tall Grass Short

Running a grader is whole different game than any other equipment. Mine is galion 503 with a 10 foot blade, ideal for small roads. Did not have anyone to show me, so watched videos and started grading. First job I did, had it just about where I wanted it, thought one more pass. Big mistake, spent th...

Re: Making Tall Grass Short

Liked the woman with the apple trees we get a lot cityidiots here too. One time we were working on a private road and turning around in a driveway got off a tire width on the grass. Didn't leave a rut, just a depression you could barely see. Owner insisted we fill it in. Stood at watched us, then wa...

Re: Question for woodworkers

First, good to have you back. I had decided to go same route as you, use a handheld router. Bought one, but haven't had a chance to use it yet cause the wife tried ice skating on some stairs. Fell down half a flight. Nothing broken, but she is pretty battered and bruised. So spent the last few weeks...

Re: Question for woodworkers

Spent some time cruising craig@list facebook and some local pages. There are a lot of reasonable priced used table saws and router tables out there. Several older craftsman from back when they built good heavy duty machines. Should be able to find to find what I want.

Question for woodworkers

Am looking to get a router and table. I want to make shiplap paneling for my office from reclaimed 3/4 pine. Then next year Tougne and groove flooring from 2 inch spruce for the new house. I know little about routers, looking for recommendations on the best set up. Willing to spend for good equipeme...

Re: Waldon wheel loaders

Went to look at it today. Not suited for my needs. But it is a beast, built like a tank applied. Down side it is slow and clumsy, slow hydraulics. Keep looking.

Re: Citiots strike again.

Gotta love that mentality. Move out to the country to get away from the city, then try to make it like where you came from.

Citiots strike again.

I never cease to be amused at some of the things city people say and do when they come out to the country. The latest is a Pittsburgh lady on the local facebook page. They recently bought a camp in the area. First it was gushing constantly about the all the beautiful deer in their yard which she was...

Re: Needing a new air compressor

Stay away from Ingersoll, they were good at one time but not now. I bought a gas powered Northstar 5 years ago because I needed 100% duty cycle also. Pricey, but I have never regretted it.

Re: Truck shopping, a shock to the system.

It aggravates me that these subordinate wanna be road warriors are the ones driving the prices up making it hard for a guy that needs a truck for his livelihood to afford a truck. I mean do you really need a F350 diesel dually for a grocery getter and the most serious offroading you do are the speed...

Truck shopping, a shock to the system.

Last truck I bought was in 05, a new F150. It has finally reached the point with 230 thousand miles I don't want to put the money into it to keep it on the road. Needs body work, a new bed, exhaust system, but final straw was the frame needs major patching. So today I went truck shopping. Looking fo...
