Re: 350 B brake band

Thanks, been reading the book and studying the dozer too. Will the final have to come all the way out just to replace band or can I slide it out far enough just to replace the band.

350 B brake band

Getting ready to start tearing it apart to replace broke brake band. Does anyone have a video or any tips on how to make this easy. First time doing this and any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: 350 B steering

Well I finally got around to checking out what the problem is. First I pulled top covers off and compared the left to the right. Noticed the brake band was not right against drum. Really couldn't see what was wrong with it so I pulled the tank to get a better view. Looking from the back side you cou...

Re: 350 B steering

Left side works properly. Right side the track turns while pushing on a big tree and when lever is pulled half way the track stops and starts turning again when lever is released. It will not steer on the right side at all, I have to use left track to make it turn. Got it out of the woods so I can c...

Re: 350B reverse

My reverser gives me a problem also. In the down position it works fine but when you pull it up it hesitates a little then moves but makes a screeching noise while moving. Thought it would straighten out after using it for a while but never did. I just leave it down and shift the tranny most of the ...

Re: 350 B steering

Well I finally got around to doing the tree test. Both tracks turned and stopped when pulling back levers and started spinning when released. When driving foward it will drift very little when lever is pulled. Took off inspection cover and the brake adjustment bolt was pretty loose. Tightened it up ...

Re: 350 B steering

Thanks for the advice, I will try that out when the weather clears up. Should it still steer if the brake failed.

350 B steering

I was pushing some brush yesterday and lost steering and brake on right track all of a sudden. How should I start troubleshooting the problem to see what has happened. Everything has been working good and did not make any noises it just quit working. Thanks

350 B

Anyone parting out a 350B. I am needing a steering linkage ball joint part AT17365 in the book. Looking for the original part that snaps on and off. Also needing to replace a brake adjustment bolt, can the old bolt be taking out and replaced with a new one without messing something up. Thanks

Hydraulic diverter

Does anyone know of a good source for diveters. I'm looking for one with a solenoid that operates the off set boom and thumb on a JD 70 excavator. Thanks

Re: John deere 70 excavator

Talked with deere and the part I found was the horn relay. Said that there was a relay that excites the alt located in the console. Hopefully that will fix the problem. Wanted to give an update on this project.

Re: John deere 70 excavator

I believe I found the regulator. Has New Era on it with 3 terminals H B S has 24volts on B and S all the time with switch on or off. Don't get any reading on H. Think I have a bad regulator now.

Re: John deere 70 excavator

Thanks go the help. Took the alt off today and had it checked out. Checked good and is a 24v alt. It has a larger white wire hooked on the bat terminal and a white jumper that I replaced to the 2 wire plug in and the other I hooked up to a green white stripe wire which I assume goes back to the gaug...
