Start with a battery of known full charge and good cable connections (both). Ground the negative. Touch the positive to the small terminal on the solenoid and you should hear the solenoid operate but the starter will not run. Replace solenoid if it doesn't. Touch the positive to the lower terminal o...

Check the flatness of the clutch plate. Could be a warped disc. Also make sure pilot shaft is snug in pilot bearing.

And backing up the joint with a long length of 2" pipe helps too. One blow at a time.

Don't worry about the drain plug. When you remove the filter EVERYTHING will flow out. It is held in by the four evenly spaced (in a square) bolts on the right side of the reverser. By all means change the fluid and filter. You can mop out any crud by sticking your hand through the filter hole (afte...

If there is a restriction on the suction side of the pump it will hold the diaphragm and there will be no resistance whether or not it is on the lobe. Check for restriction on that side.

To get the arms off you need to remove the angle adjusters. Is your problem the bearings (on the adjusters) or the threads? Remove the bearing snap rings and pull the adjusters with the bearings up (if you can) so that only the threads give you resistance. You may have to turn a few turns counterclo...

It is also possible your throwout bearing can be adjusted closer and you won't have to do much. Try that first.

Looks awfully dry and dirty inside. I would pull the quill, too, as well as the trx cover and look inside.

Go to the JD parts book, jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490, enter model "350B", click on "exact model", and then click on "find". Find your schematic and it will also give you the names of the parts, housings, etc. so we can tell what you need.

The transmission cover of a four speed 420 will bolt right on a 40. Did that to mine to stop getting into two gears. I still have the old cover if you need one, but don't recommend it if you are going to work the crawler. If you can find the rubber bushings for the front crossbar let me know.

Sounds simple. First make sure pump is turning under load (coupling not stripped). Loosen line on suction side of pump and see if you strike oil. A restriction less than total will give you slow operation, not no operation. Then check pressure relief valve in loader control. If you have a diverter v...

Cold oil is thicker and develops more pressure in a worn out pump. Check the pressure and see if it drops as the oil warms.

Years ago I found that the best way to test a condenser was to remove it, charge it on the external post of the distributor using the screwdriver trick while grounding the base, and throw it to someone while it was charged. If he cussed a lot then the condenser was good, at least until he dropped it...

Yes, but the stick will interfere with the steering clutches. Better off with one from a 420 that has the stick "caged". Still have to bend it.
