Don't worry about the drain plug. When you remove the filter EVERYTHING will flow out. It is held in by the four evenly spaced (in a square) bolts on the right side of the reverser. To get the arms off you need to remove the angle adjusters. Is your problem the bearings (on the adjusters) or the threads? Sounds simple. First make sure pump is turning under load (coupling not stripped). Loosen line on suction side of pump and see if you strike oil. Years ago I found that the best way to test a condenser was to remove it, charge it on the external post of the distributor using the screwdriver trick while grounding the base, and throw it to someone while it was charged. If he cussed a lot then the condenser was good, at least until he dropped it...
