undercarriage interchange mc,40,420,430,440

I was also told that certain 40 crawlers have a different offset sprocket, but the track and rollers would interchange with the 420, 430, 440? What is the difference between undercarrige on the 1010 ...

I am redoing the tranny and have the whole crawler in pcs and thought I better check the clutch and low and behold the engine clutch disk was rusted/corroded fast to both the pressure plat...

final drive bearings jd 420

Does anyone know the actual bearing part numbers that correspond to the JD numbers 7589t cone, 8315t cup, 8314t cup, & 7590t cone. I think one cup and cone is a 25580 and 25520, but I don't know the other one. Any know the numbers?

Reverser question JD 420

If you remove a reverser from a transmission would the input shaft of the transmission mount up to the standard coupler on the clutch shaft from a non reverser equipped transmission? I guess what I am asking did JD use a different transmission input shaft for reverser equipped crawlers versus non-re...

420 crawler

I was thinking it would be cheaper to try to find a used transmission that was in good shape versus a ring and pinion. I can buy a used tranny for $400. I havent priced just a ring and pinion anywhere but if I have to disassemble the whole transmission and install new bearings, set up the rearend, a...

more info 420c

The serial number of the crawler I am working on is 119424. The casting number on the side of the transmission is m4002t. Now I need a little education here. The 4 speed transmission I found has a casting number of m2980t, I think, hard to make out in the pictures. What year is this out of? My books...

420 c Changing the bracket from the frame track carriers

I am trying to change the bracket that is riveted on to the frame and is bolted and clamped to the square tube that carries the track. I have a Model 90 loader still on the machine. I have the transmission out already for another issue so I can get at the bracket easily. I can't seem to get the brac...
