.125!!

An 1/8" overbore is possible on these blocks? Wow. Can ya get crazy compression ratios like maybe 9:1?!?

The only problem I see, maybe the drivetrain wouldn't hold up to the possible 50 hp..

mc low oil pressure

Sounds like its due for a overhaul. My uncle bought a G tractor that kept throwing the flywheel off, Finally when we got the flywheel to stay on, you could hear the knock. We finally traced it to the pot metal collar on the oil pump had broken so the oil pump wasn't turning/producing pressure. I had...

Broken bolt

I have never done this but I have extracted many broken bolts. If drilling won't work last ditch thing to use a nut and wire feed welder. Weld the nut onto the broken stud thru the center of the nut. Let it cool naturally. then try to back it out. if it breaks, weld another nut on there. Ya gotta us...

home made battery cables

I have made alot of cables for my stuff. Its pretty easy. take some 0 or 00 cable-fine strand. cut to length. if you can't find ends that will work, you can make your own ends with 1/2 copper tubing. leave one end a tube, the other, smash flat. drill hole the appropriate size. put fine strand cable ...

Sooo farrr

Looking into it, just got the charging system straightened out fully last month. it still lugs/dies in 4th. the gov linkages appear to work smoothly and I have no other problems in any other gear. I gotta remember to bring my compression tester home from work to see what that is. Any ideas of what t...

Overall my mc is running good. only Issue I got so far is when i put it in 4th it either doesn't move or "lugs" / that is it moves a few feet then stalls out. Any other gear its pretty sweet. pops right along without any issues.

stainless steel

If you do replace bolts/nuts, be aware that stainless are less than a grade 3 bolt in terms of strength. generally o/k for sheetmetal but NOT recommended for any chassis/steering components. looks good, just not that strong. I would go @ least to a grade 5 hardware on tractor/crawler stuff.

startin'

I just resurrected my 50 mc after it was sitting for about 20 years. we got an ignition "kit" cap/rotor coil, points an condensor. I literally just slapped 'em in. I didn't adjust points as far as gap/dwell an it fired right up! we went thru putting in new plugs, wires, cap/rotor/coil/condensor an la...
