Re: JD 450 tune up (Euro Market)

Thanks I appreciate that. Im gonna try to get set up to host some pictures so I can have them within my first post. I see what your saying about the braces now. Update, i ordered all of the filters but the air filter. Still not sure what I need there. It looks like someone reversed my housing so the...

Re: JD 450 tune up (Euro Market)

Thanks for the tip. Do you have any pictures of that setup? Having trouble visualizing what your describing.
Unfortunately my air canister is not easily accessible like that. Hoping to post pics soon.

Yes this is my first crawler.

JD 450 tune up (Euro Market)

Hey guys, I have a JD 450 (Based on additional research its a 450A with 95A back hoe) gray market loader/backhoe. Its unique in that the drivers seat spins around to operate the backhoe. Unfortunately since its an oddball Im not sure which manual or parts to use on it. Its been sitting for awhile an...

Re: JD 450 loader (newbie)

Hey guys, time to resurrect an old thread. When I last posted the trackloader was cleaned and parked in the barn. Life happened and it sat there without being moved or even started until this week. I'm hoping to put it to work this spring and didn't want it to sit another winter without at least cyc...

Ok thanks! I didn't realize you could tension the tracks with a standard grease gun. I'll have to look at the rollers to see if they have fittings.

So where is the best place to get a track tensioner grease gun?

Well it's all cleaned up and in the barn. Still need to change fluids, top off the fuel and tighten the tracks. Still waiting on the service manual to arrive. I did try to shift from low to mid gear today with the loader running and it functioned. However it didn't like shifting back. Kinda weird bu...

Probably will not work the machine in the winter. However in the early spring and late fall we see a lot of mornings in the low 30's. It's supposed to warm up this weekend (50ish) so I'm gonna try to get it running and into the barn. It's been outside since I bought it. I've been rebuilding my truck...

Well I finally ordered the manual. My daily drivers all decided to have major issues the last week or so which equates to zero progress on the loader. Hopefully it's not a major undertaking to change the fluids and filters.

Another question, should my loader have one or two batteries?

I believe it can come off pretty easily. But I've not messed with it yet. Still looking for an ID tag on it somewhere.

Also how about the sloppy pins for the loader. Buy new, keep running these, or have a local machine shop turn some new ones?

Thanks Stan/Paul. It will be kept in the barn this winter so that should protect it will from the elements. However I may still put it on boards and will certainly keep a can on the exhaust. The po left all kinds of dirt in the track so I'm going to do my best to pressure wash that out before runnin...

Great information, thanks guys! I'll open those link up on my computer when I get home.

What makes you think its a 450B and not a 450 or a 450A? I'm curious to find out what it is exactly. Also, what do you all do with your crawlers to prepare them for the cold?
