The 400 diesel used the 202, same as the 450, 2020, 480 forklift, 440 skidder. You can also use the 219, 239, and probably the 276. I would have to look in my books to see what the gas model is, but dont see many of those around here.

Well sad to say that for the first time in over 20 years I wont have a crawler on the farm. Sold my 550 to a friend to put a down payment on a JD 6420. Heres some pics from the March dumping. I maintain almost a mile of road for a gentleman, and the 3ft of snow we received was just too much for my 1...

Hi, I went from a 450C to a 550 this spring. 550 will out push a 450 and its quicker. 450C is more fuel efficient. I really like the flat operators platform on the 550. Easier to get on, off, and I can see much better. Only thing I dont like is there is no engine clutch on the 550. For me the de-acc...

Update for yall. Had it running tonight. Runs, drives, and steers good. Had to rebuild the carb and seal up a hole in the hydraulic tank. Think my neighbor is gonna buy it. Really wanted to keep it, but found a parts truck for mine. Roadbuilder- I am doing a ground up restoration on a 1983 4wd Chevy...

Lavoy- the first 2 years I didnt even know it was there. He told me he had one in the barn, but couldnt see it through all the weeds and trees. Dad and I looked it over today, couldnt see where it had ever been abused like most up here are. Hate to get rid of it, but I need parts to start my JD powe...

The 420 looks like a toy when compared to the 550. Just 10 years ago I thought 420s/430s were big :). http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a247/jd430c/DSC00324.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a247/jd430c/DSC00326.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a247/jd430c/DSC00328.jpg http://i12.photobucke...

The veggy farmer told me had only been sitting for 4 years, but I have been plowing the fields for 6 years and I never saw it move. I figure it has been sitting for 10+ years. Everything rolls freely and it still steers good. UC looks to be in great shape too. I had planned to keep it, but some bill...

1957 420
This spring the local vegetable farmer approached me about making him a field. I plow all of his fields every year and have had my eye on his 420 crawler for several years. He said he would trade me the 420 if I cleared him an acre or two. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a247/jd430c/DSC00234.jpg h...
