I found it today in the tech manual, adjusting it right now. The PO monkeyed with that too  Will give an update and pics tonight.

Digitup, is there a way to adjust the rate of shift? Its really snappy going from forward to reverse. I scanned the tech manual tonight, but I couldnt find anything on adjusting it.

I am hoping nothing was damaged as a result. The previous owner installed a new tranny pump just before I bought it hoping that would fix it. Time will tell.

JD 550 update

Well back in the fall I traded my 430c for a 550 with a tranny problem. The tranny lines were vibrating and making lots of noise. Also the crawler would work for a little while and then stop. Book made it sound like the tranny pump was the problem so today I started prepping it to remove the pump. I...

Heres a few pics. I dont have a 350, so I had to use my 450B to show you. On the 350s the tach is closer to the air cleaner. Ken, thats for the tach. Tach bolted on top of the floor plate almost between the steering levers. I dont know why Deere put it there, its almost impossible to read.

Heres a couple pics of the 276 in my 550. The first JD tractors to use the 276 was the 2630/2640. Also I looked up the turbo manifolds, both the 276 in the 550 and the 219 in the 450C use the same manifold. Sounds to me like you have a 550 series crawler that has the wrong decals, and at some point had a engine swap. Seems to be common up here, but agree that we need pics to confirm what it is. Also make sure you know what model you have before ordering parts. Digitup told me awhile ago that there is a...

Swawpy, Not enough :). Sold it to a friend just up the road for a little over 6k. Was sick of dumping money into it. Every time I wanted to use/play with it something was breaking. Most likely in a few years I will end up with it again.

for sale- 420, 430, 440, 1010, 350 crawler top link

The cows decided they want a round bale wrapper, so I gotta sell my crawler top link. Used it on my 1010 a couple of times and then sold the 1010. Top link is in great shape. No broken/missing parts, everything turns freely, and isnt sloppy. I will email better pics to anyone interested. Asking $150...
