I saw something really sad today !
 When returning from deer hunting today, my son and I passed one of our local scrap recyclers. My son was driving and he pointed to one of the scrap yards flat bed trucks. Sitting in a very sad, worn out looking position was a 1967 John Deere Straight 350. This JD 350 was once a Missouri Depart...

Forgive me for being a little skeptical but I just want to make sure you have the right plug. The bottom of the nose of the machine is sloped back and down to the front of the skid plate. There should be a hole directly in the front center of the front skid plate. Directly underneath the engine. The...

After having worked on heavy equipment ( dozers mainly) most of my career, I found some of your "Minor" repairs some what amusing. On a couple of them, I would like to know what you would consider a "Major" repair. I realize that some of the things done to dozers are pretty major in comparison...

There are pressures that can be adjusted. However in my experience these reversers are either working or they aren't. I have had little success in adjusting the pressures to cure an ill in the reverser. It seemed to always lead to a clutch pack or a bearing or a seal or something other than merely a...

I'm not sure what the filter is under your seat. Perhaps for the winch? Or maybe something I have forgotten about but it's not for the transmission. The transmission and final drives aren't filtered. There is no pump or anything pressurized in that system. Except for the clutch packs and the reverse...

Did you change the filter in the reverser when you changed the oil? If it is clogged or stopped up, it will cause this issue. Over filling the reverser won't effect the way it should operate. Usually it will push the fluid back out through the vent that's built in to the dip stick. Only messy! I don...

The first thing I would look for is moisture in the clutch housing. Water will cause your fiber plates to slip. But sense you said this occurred suddenly I suspect something else. I'll try and explain this so I hope I get this out right. Okay... so how does the right steering lever compare to the le...

I agree with Ken, you need to get this water out of the machine. The longer it stays in the system the bigger problems you will have. If your machine is slipping, I suspect that it is your reverser sense you said you found a cooler line leaking. Leaking cooler line equals low oil level in the revers...
