Sounds to me like you were starving for oil, if your dozers pickup for the hydraulic oil is at the back of the tank like mine, I could see it sucking air at that steep of an incline. Maybe your fluid is a little bit lower now than before or this incline was just a little bit steeper??

Thanks Leonard,

That is in fact what I ended up doing. Tried the hydraulic pump drive thing first...very tight and didnt work out too well. Ended up putting the alternator back on and tightening the fan belt up and using that method.

Thank you very much for your reply.

I just got an OPERATORS MANUAL JOHN DEERE 350B CRAWLER and it shows all the locations for the grease zerts and also the drain and fill plugs. This may not be true for all of the JD manuals. I got the electronic version (downloadable) and it was only $16 that way and I got it immediately. Maybe I am ...

Yeah if I continue to have leaks I will do a pressure test to find a leak, but I know I either have a bad head gasket or cracked head because if you look in the radiator it sits there just bubbling away....even when the engine is cold. I sincerely hope my steering problem is a simple fix. I worked a...

True on the hard ground....thankfully not many rocks to cement together LOL I had a guy come in with a 1150 Case dozer with a laser level on it to level my house pad. This is a pretty big dozer (120HP & 27000 lbs) and he still had to use rippers to loosen that clay up before he could work it :) When...

Nope, its been so dry here that most of the ponds are dry. Last summer I had cracks in the ground 2"+ wide LOL We got some moisture about a month ago from a good wet snow but we are still way behind.

Wanted: Ripper to fit JD 350B

I just bought a 350B with a 6way blade and winch on it. I am planning on digging some small ponds on my property and I dont think the 350B will be able to cut the thick red clay here. I previously rented a newer jd450J when building the road and electric line easement into my property and the clay w...

My new toy didn't make it 2 hours.

I done a pretty good once over when I bought my JD350B but it has some problems that dont show up till you have worked it a while. I think (from what I have read here and the tech manual) that I have them figured out but thought I would bounce them off of people familiar with the machine. First, aft...
