Re: Why

Got my idler back together, (thanks Lavoy for the wheel) When I took the track off, it wasn't as terrible as I thought it would be, swinging hammers in the oil field for a few years helped, but I didn't dream it would be such an s.o.b to get back together. Holy cow. It was 20 degrees an I was sweati...

Re: Why

When it comes to saws, I bleed husky orange, I have had a 390 xp, my 372 xp and a worked over 361. Granted I don't use my saws as hard as you do, they have given me years of trouble free service. But it sounds like the new ones are junk. I am sorry you have so many issues with yours. Might have to j...

Re: Why

Nope, nope, nope. Don't like water especially when it's over my head, and I am on a boat(witch I don't like anyways) and giant lobsters are creepy looking sob's. Looks like a giant spider with claws and a tail. But I do like Japanese diesels. They been making little ones for quite a while and seem to...

Re: Why

Had my fill of over seas crap on Sunday, bought a cheap "farm jack" at tractor supply, because I bent my old bumper jack trying to pick up the front of my crawler..any way it's a 7,000 lb jack so it picked it up, I set the jack stands and went to let it down, but it didn't go down, so I worked the h...

Re: Why

Cuttingedge, I was messing around an found a couple little ag crawlers over seas, iseki has a cool little one as well as a half track 4wd tractor. Pretty cool. Don't know why we don't have stuff like that over here. Yanmar has a nice one too.

Re: Why

More good why stuff...I split the track and pulled the idler off...and it's pretty well wrecked. Surprise. Thought I was gonna get away with out having to buy too much spendy stuff. Looks like I am going to spend the kids Christmas shopping on crawler parts. :D

Idler bracket crooked..am I boned?

So I split the track today on my me and pulled the idler of because it wasn't straight on the track frame. I found the inside hub TE 20 YT was broken and missing a big chunk out of it, so I know I need that one. How ever, when I took it apart it the bushing on the outside of the idler fell right out...

Re: Why

They also had alot of cool crawlers in the 30's and 40's. Also alot of kick ass industrial machinery. Would have been a great time to be alive. I grew up in the 80's. All we had was some good bands, stomper trucks and crappy slow ass cars.

Re: Why

I love my crawler, it's got some issues but I still love it. I am a little let down thinking I got some rare jewel that wasn't beat to hard, and didn't get molested by some dude with a welder. But I will get her ironed out, not looking for a show queen. Just a reliable fun little machine. Cutting ed...

Re: thinking newer truck

Look for a pre 07 Cummins, they were the last one to get all the emissions, around 07.5, but the front ends are known for ball joint issues. I have some work done to mine, get between 18 to 21 mpg and can pretty well tow anything.

Re: Why

Well, I got her back together with no leaks, not a big fan of the blue rtv squeezed out of the oil pan, but it don't leak and I don't have to worry about 65 year old sludge plugging up something important. On the the final drives! (This otta be good)
