Yep blue silicone is pretty good stuff. It gets used a lot in truck rearends and other places where you don't usually have a gasket to work with.

Well I'll be damned, I thought that was a NEW seat frame. It's good that there are people who don't automatically throw everything out. I'm currently repairing the original tachometer which is certainly a project but doable if you just put your mind to it and have another gauge for parts. The seat I...

What are you testing with? Infrared temp gun on the thermostat housing when thermostat is open is a good method. Add about 10 degrees to that and should be your water temp.

Do the gas motors have trouble staying warm in the winter? I want to be able to use the crawler in the snow.

I bought a toy like that too. It's yellow with a brush guard and no 3-pt hitch. Nice display model.

Use that DupliColor High Heat paint on your muffler, either the aluminum or black (black is the right color). The stuff really works. I saw one guy use the red stuff to paint a pig-roaster, after heating the belly of the thing to glowing the paint was still on it when it cooled down (just faded).

I wouldn't, never saw such a thing.

If it has good power and doesn't smoke then I wouldn't fool with it.

I just got a 3/4" HeliCoil kit, it was $80. OUCH! That is probably not the last place you will ever need a 3/4" thread repaired on that machine though.

Well from what I have read on here I am sure you have a very discriminating eye for good quality repros.

I am going to get a list together of the stuff I need and I'll e-mail you about it.

On that note are you a dealer for JD parts and/or do you sell used original JD parts?

We got a fair amount of snow on the ground, was looking to be a white Christmas but we're into a warm spell now and the snow may be gone by then. I was hoping to mess around with the 420 in the snow but spent 2 days removing all the ice cubes from the transmission and hydraulic oil after getting it ...

Use Agricultural Yellow with the green.

Very rarely they were all yellow; mine is this way but that was painted over the original green. In this case the yellow is Old Construction Yellow.

The instrument panel is black.

The general plan of water cooled engines is that the water pump pushes coolant from the front of the engine through the block, cooling the cylinders, then the water goes up through holes in the top of the block at the rear, and comes to the front again through the cylinder head, exiting at the therm...

And people make fun of me for having ONE toy dozer (a 420).

Ryan that is a sweet looking machine. Must be great not having to fix everything that broke off over 50 years!
