Here you can go to the local ag stores ( the ones that sell liquid type fertilizer ) and pick up huge poly cubes. Mine is 4 feet cubed inside a metal cage and I paid 20 dollars for it. It even had a shut off valve on the bottom, I just had to buy a couple of reducers to get down from the 2" to a ga...

Any thoughts on a cheap secure safe way of carrying water in the back of a pickup truck? Thank you all for the good ideas! They make 250 gallon poly stock tanks that fit over the wheel wells in a pickup bed- may be a little more cost but will better distribute the load over the bed of you want more...

Thanks, a good thought, as I do have the power washer, I would just need to get the water there. At one point I was considering bringing water up in the truck, maybe I have a reason to do so now. Any thoughts on a cheap secure safe way of carrying water in the back of a pickup truck? Thank you all f...

Thanks, I don't have running water at the site, so a power washer probably isn't viable, unless they get my well in first :)

I will keep in mind the need for jacks to lift it up. Thank you for the bolt dimensions :)

railroad ties sound like a plan, presuming I can find some, I suspect they are heavy, but a car trailer could carry a couple, right? I just need to get them on it.....

I suspect it is the belly pan(s), that would make sense to me, Perhaps chain them to a tree and drive away from it....?

JD450B undertray or ? hanging

Backing up my JD450B in dirt and it bogs. I look underneath, and there is some component hanging, completely covered in dirt of course. Is it an under tray of some kind? I have the technical manual, just hoping to have someone identify the likely component. Is there an under tray? What is the best w...

Ok, I read in the manual about checking for breakage too, so will review. The zerk does look relatively new.

JD 450B loose track

I had my steering clutches done last year, and have been getting some quality seat time on the 450B (clearing stumps and boulders from a clearing). On Saturday I noticed one track had developed quite a bit of slack. I added grease and it looked about right. On Sunday after some more work, it had eve...

Check to see if they didn't over crimp a hose or you have a collapsed hose I have had several hoses collapse when made and spent hours trying to figure out the flow problem this is what we bought a video scope for and it works great If you don't have a video scope see if you can find a mechanic wit...

That was my second choice
I do have the manual, but expect the common knowledge here might get me to where I needed to be quicker.

Backhoe trouble shooting help suggestions requested

Last year the backhoe on my 450B crawler was working and then blew a main hose. I couldn't find a matching coupler, so I replaced all four hoses from the crawler to the backhoe, and the backhoe would only move slowly and with little apparent power. I did try and swap the hoses around, in case I inst...

I added the big service record receipts from 2012, @$5500 & $3000 in parts and labor in 5 pages of receipts at http://928racing.net/jd450b/ I am a realist, I know cost does not equal value, but I could also use it for a while and at this point it is unlikely to diminish in value for a while :) It is...
