If you are sure you have a "C" model and you are sure you have wet style clutches, then your transmission, clutch housings and final drives are all one common oil. It takes about 11 US gallons of tractor hydraulic fluid. I usually try to pour about 2 1/2 gallons in each clutch housing and the rest ...

Final drive capacity and oil type 450C

What is the capacity on '80 450C for the final drive and is it hydraulic fluid or gear oil?

Well, I have semi set the steering brakes and have closed and sealed up the top plates. Tomorrow I will reconnect hydraulics and battery box

What are the benefits to doing a common sump conversion? What are the consequences if I leave it the same? Thanks! Do you happen to know what size the drain plugs are for the steering clutch housing..I thought it was a 3/8" ratchet head, but I'm wrong..I ended up pumping all fluids out, but I still want to free up drain plug..also brakes were way too loose, I got them to engage by tightening actuator..Is...

I made some progress in taking stuff apart. Looks like my brake linings are good. I have about 3/16" lining on each side. My theory on what I think happened....The machine is new to me (2 weeks), I have no contact with previous owner, so can't pick his brain about any maintenance. Brake levers were ...

Update...I did notice that when I pull either steering lever, the brake is stuck in the "engaged" mode and doesn't move all, almost like they are seized on the brake mode..I pulled rops off now removing fuel tank and battery compartment and hydraulics

Pondhogvt, I'm a little confused...you're saying the hydraulic pistons should move when I press brake?? Or did you mean when I pull on steering levers? As for the brake wheel adjustment,I done about 4+ revolutions and not a difference in steering..my next is to pull off covers to investigate
