Re: Poop. I think I'm boned.
Any tips on getting the clutch housings off the trans case? I've got the one bolt and 3 nuts off and have taken all the links for brake and throwout bearing off. Can't see anything else fastening them, guessing the gasket (if there is one) is pretty well glued in place. Need to find the right pair o...

Thanks, Lavoy.
Life is gonna get in the way the next couple of days, but as soon as I finish tearing down and inspecting the transmission, I'll get back to you.

Re: Poop. I think I'm boned.
Thanks, Lavoy. The rest of the trans looks okay. If I can get bearings, fix the nose of the intermediate shaft and find a reverser housing, I could put it back together.

Re: 440 ic rebuild
The engine in my 420C is good. Haven't checked compression but it starts and runs and doesn't smoke or make expensive noises.
Not sure if they're compatible, but I have to make a decision whether to throw money at the trans or part the machine out.

Re: Uh-oh...Speed/Hour Meter Drive on 420
Thanks.
Working with it further today, the drive shaft on the fitting is frozen so it probably stripped the gear.
I'll work on fishing it out.

Uh-oh...Speed/Hour Meter Drive on 420
The drive cable for the S/H meter is completely missing on my machine. I decided to pull the remnants of the engine end of the cable off the drive assembly and inadvertently unscrewed the entire assembly. In my ignorance, I thought "Just as well, I can clean it up better" Unfortunately, the bevel ge...
