There are bleed screws on top of the filter housing and a primer lever on the fuel pump. The manual mentions when done leave the primer lever at the lowest point of its stroke.

All the bolts on the left side have been loosened. I noticed one is larger so they probably had one break/strip and had to drill/tap over-size. The bushings appear hardened but I was going to see if a carbide tool in a lathe could trim them down. My thought is they would be more uniform than grindin...

Just what I was looking for. Thanks for the thread!

450B undercarriage/front equalizer bar

Noticed the bolts and bushings that fasten the front equalizer to track rail on this machine had worn- shoulders of bushings rounded over. Bought replacements and it appears the head of the bushing doesn't bolt tight to rail- as though meant to have a little float. Is this correct or is something el...

Electrical problems are a pain! I usually start replacing the cheap. simple things first. Perhaps check connectors- loose, almost broken connector? My 450B had stiff steering lever and I think it's the shaft/bushings- one bushing worn all the way through. In the process of replacing those. If yours ...

Check the fuel tank vent, too. I had a similar event- tried to start up after running fine the previous day- nothing. Would chuff a bit with starting fluid. When I took the fuel cap off I heard a vacuum! Cleaned the vent on the underside of the tank (flet like ice/dirt in there), bled filters and it...

The clutch pressure plate may be okay... I fo...

Yeah, I had seen that post, too, and made sure the box was unchecked. I had't been using the BBCode on the photo site- once I used that for the link-BOOM!- pics posted. Thanks again. I spent today lining up parts. Found a replacement clutch operating shaft locally. Found the brake lining, while havi...

450B Steering Clutch: throw-out fork frozen to shaft

First: Many thanks to Lavoy for the website and all those who post their work. Thanks, too, to Crawler123's tutorial on rebuilding the clutches on his 450. It's enough to be up to your elbows in grease but to take the time to document your work- much appreciated! https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2839/...
