A “Thank you” for Lavoy and Inj pump question

First, I want to thank Lavoy for fixing me up with new injectors for my 450B. Very reasonable price and they came adjusted and ready to install. The hardest part of the job was getting the dang new rubber washers down inside the nuts for the return caps far enough to get threads to engage! I’d origi...

Re: What is in a JD350 fuel tank

Thanks for the great pics and info Stan!
Had the issue with plugged vent on my 450B.
I fumbled along and finally found the vent. It’s nice to have this for others to reference.

Re: JD 350B Steel Hydraulic line

I have a 450B. I had some damaged hard lines. Maybe I was lucky but, I was able to braze one section- used flux and built up a layer. Also, had some crushed sections I was able to splice in replacement tube. If yours is leaking on a straight section- maybe cut out that section? I cleaned lines with ...

Re: Tilting Hard nose on 450c dozer

I have a 450B trackloader.
As well as the filter mount, I had to raise limb risers and remove belly pan. Then, it’s just the two bolts on each side.
I had the loader raised so, was able to use that and a come-along to support hard nose.
I completely removed mine for radiator and water pump repair.

Re: Track pin removal

I also saved the old pin for reassembling the chain. The center diameter is thinner than the ends. I ground the end diameters down a little then used it to line up the chain ends. Then, lubed with anti-seize, I drove the new master pin in behind it, driving the old pin out. There’s a lot of bits to ...

Re: Track pin removal

I have a 450B and just split one side so I could rebuild the track adjuster. I tried most of the methods you mentioned and had to give in to the O/A torch. Had to do it on the other side years back when I did the steering clutch. I did like others recommended- burn as deep in each end as you can. It...

Re: steering not working

I have a 450B, too. Have you adjusted the steering clutches and brakes per Deere manual? I may be wrong but, I believe the power steering cylinders only “assist” with moving the linkage- so you don’t have to pull as hard. Even with engine off, you should be able to pull handles and move linkage. Adj...

Re: transmission oil cooling line ports

Glad you got it back together. My steering pump uses fluid from the tranny and not a separate reservoir. I’m still piecing mine back together after rebuilding water pump and some hydraulic lines. As far as frame: mine is a track loader and bolts don’t attach to the outside loader frame, just the inn...

Re: transmission oil cooling line ports

450 tranny hoses On the right side of tranny: Front line runs on top- goes to bottom of cooler. Then, from top of cooler hose runs to outside of filter holder. Rear line “t’s” off case (back of t takes the steering cylinders return) and runs on bottom- runs to “t” for steering pump and on to center ...

Re: transmission oil cooling line ports

I have a 450B trackloader.
There is a spacer that goes between frame and clutch housing- 2 bolts on the side of frame into housing and one bolt from the bottom into the spacer.

If you still have questions on tranny oil lines- I can check mine and let you know. 14400-

Re: 450B track loader valve plumbing

Thank you for the information. I’ll look at the Deere diagram for the valve body. My plan had been to keep the circuit but just make a cleaner/shorter section to loop back to the return side. If fairly straight forward, it may be that removing the “power beyond” would be cleaner still. I appreciate ...

450B track loader valve plumbing

Morning. My machine had a hoe on it in a previous life. The return side of the loader valve body runs to a hose that's looped on top of the steering assist cylinders then back to the tank. The images I find on the Deere parts site aren't real clear so, I was wondering if anyone had a diagram or pic ...

Re: JD450 Hard Nose Removal

Also, pull the pump coupling back and put some extra fan belts in there and wire tie them out of the way until they are needed. You will thank me for that one down the road. Love that idea! I’m just putting the front back together after water pump rebuild. All the pump disconnect linkage was frozen...

Re: Brocken bolts on clutch housing

I had one broken bolt on the right side.
I was lucky- it wasn’t tight and the left hand bit spun it out.
I made a “bolt diameter” fitting with a 1/4” hole and set screws on one end and a long shaft on the other so I could reach in to center the bit and drill.

Good luck,
Darryl

Look at a thread by “crawler123”
Good info and pictures.

I think That if you are talking about the quill shaft- there is a retaining bolt that is removed through a plug in the top of the final drive housing.

Any pictures you can post would also help other members help you.

Good luck,
Darryl
