Mass e-mail capability

One of the new features of this board that I have not utilized, but is there is the ability to mass e-mail. What this means is that if I get a new part made, or have some sort of announcement, I will be able to e-mail all of you that listed an e-mail address when you registered. I probably will not ...

Overall opinon of the new board??????

Okay, it has been up for a while, what is the overall opinion of the new board????? Now that I have gotten used to it, I am really enjoying it, and so many new features that were not available on the old board. I think we are up to about 60 users registered, and still gaining one every now and then....

Brad,
It would be a little slow, but if you really want to do it, I could send you a manual periodically, I have pretty much all of the manuals from the BO Lindeman through 350B, plus I have several of the attachments manuals, some of which have been unavailable for many, many years.

The new replaement adjusters are around $300 if memory serves. Just sold one to a guy for his 2010, same concept as the 440, just built slightly different. They are good adjusters, in some ways better than original. Hard to guess on freight, off the cuff guess would be $250 for bare rails, no pads. ...

If you could harness the power of mouse pee and make it into a penetrating oil, you would be rich, because I have never found anything that will ruin an engine clutch as bad as that. As much as I hate to tell you, I will bet that you are going to have to split it and replace the clutch. I has this h...

This will be kind of a long winded answer, but here goes. There are 3 phases of the 420: Phase 1, 1956, was the same color as the 40, has more power, and was beefed up in a few areas, but was quite similar. Phase 2, 1957 saw the introduction of the 5 spd transmission, the 3PT hitch, the two tone pai...

If you have to keep moving the throwout bearing holder out, then somehow it is slipiing in. Only thing I can think of is do you have the washer under the adjusting bolt? If rollers are worn, they will start to wear on the pin bosses on the rails. I don't know of a spec as far as original diameter. L...

Will not fit, either in size, or in mounting. The rear engine case on the Detoit in there now is a special Deere only piece developed to mount the 2-53 to a John Deere bell housing. Even if you could shoehorn it in, the crawler would be so butchered as to be valuless for much other than parts, and t...

I usually have most of that stuff on hand.
You can do it without a hoist, but you will need help, empty case is 147lbs, full case is going to be over 250.

If you don't already have them, get a parts and service manual. Someone here is making CD copies, that is a neat way to do it, you can print off the page you want and take it to the shop with you. ALWAYS check the bearings and seals in the final, I will bet you that the axle seal is bad. If so, it w...

Not sure I understand what is actually happening in either case. What adjustment is it that you are losing? Are you gaining or losing freeplay?
What kind of wear are you talking about on the track chains?

The external portion of the linkage runs along the lower left hand side of the reverser case. If you find no problems there, then the pin inside of the bell housing may have fallen out. Unfortunately only way to get at that is to pull the engine.

Quite a bit of work on a 1010, plus there is a host of other parts that need to be added at the same time. A reverser crawler does not have a clutch, so all ao those parts would need to be added. All in all, not any cheaper than a reverser or reverser rebuilld, same amount of work or more, and the p...
